Floyd case ‘a milestone’

Yep. Because they are far more likely to make ACTUAL death threats. I'll lay even money they get death threats if any of them choose to reveal their identities. And you can bet the Trumptards will do everything they can to find out.

Oh yeah. There are nutjob snipers out there.

African-Americans are arrested for drug abuse at a much higher rate than white Americans, although surveys show drugs are used at similar levels.

In 2018, around 750 out of every 100,000 African-Americans were arrested for drug abuse, compared to around 350 out of every 100,000 white Americans.

Previous national surveys on drug use show that white people use drugs at similar rates, but African-Americans continue to get arrested more often.

Especially true with pot. Hence why Republicans are opposed to legalization. Their beloved for profit prison system would suffer.

Where does one even start with this.

Let’s start with race. Apart from the fact Floyd was black and Chauvin is white what did race have to do with it? There is no coherent answer for that question. If you think you have one I’ll be happy to hear it because I’ve yet to hear it.

‘Milestone’ implies progress. Progress towards what? Anyone who thinks the Floyd case or Chauvin’s conviction is going to change anything is delusional. If anything, it represents a regression in race relations. It can easily be argued that [because he’s a white cop] Chauvin didn’t receive a fair trial because if the jury wasn’t intimidated then they weren’t paying attention—or maybe they are truly brave souls intent on doing the right thing regardless of the consequences to their homes, their jobs and their lives.

Such a quick verdict even in light of Floyd’s toxicology report? Gimme a break. That jury was intimidated.

Maybe it will lead to less black men who are killed by white cops [when they are killed by black or minority cops it doesn’t matter?]. If you think that—think again. And the reason is painfully obvious to many of us.

It’s because it has nothing to do with race. 99.9% of these bad outcomes would disappear off the face of the planet if more black men would simply stop resisting arrest. It’s exactly that simple. Nothing to do with slavery or ‘structural racism’ or whatever it’s called this week. Just less black men resisting arrest. How do we get that to happen?

Until the country is ready for that conversation the next George Floyd or Michael Brown is waiting in the wings.

And around we go. But maybe the Marxist BLM leader will be able to add to her real estate portfolio.

It is all about race. Cops have been beating and killing minorities for many, many years. This was just the latest one. The phone cameras are showing the actions of the police. They can no longer lie and have other cops cover for them. In the end, it will make America a better place.

That was different, apparently.

White, Trump supporter. Doesn’t fit the narrative. That about covers it.

But don't you have a double-standard on that?

You had inferred earlier in this thread that the driver in MN last week could have avoided being shot if he didn't try to run, right?

Guess you missed the part where not only was a white cop found guilty of murdering a black man in custody but also where even his superiors and fellow police officers crossed the blue line to verify that fact, not something that has happened a lot in the past
