#UNCLETIM trends for 11 hours - Will there be MASS account suspensions of White Libs?

There's a surprising amount of discussion over people having stated the obvious: Tim Scott is a repugnant, tap dancing, watermelon eating, textbook Uncle Tom.
I add my own voice to that of the overall African American community which very strongly holds this view.

You don't speak for people of color, and your racist comments would not go over well with any black people. It's unfortunate you don't see your racist comments as repugnant.

Yes I see them.

But the problem is, if a republican extreme right winger makes a racist comment, sure, that guy is racist this or that. but when someone claims to be on the left of center team makes the comments, I feel it makes you and I look bad not standing up to that harder.

Yeah but I don't care with others think about me. And I have called them those who claim to be on the left on it few times. If they get angry at me, then so be it.

People are allowed to have different opinions, whether they're on the left or right or whatever.

As a teenager in the early sixties, I learned the term Uncle Tom from non-melanin-deficient friends.
It's their term.

Plantation owners tried to control people by punishing independent thought and trying to destroy self worth. The Liberal Alt Left is trying to stop Senator Scott's independent thought by attacking his self worth. How is that any different?

I don't agree with calling Scott an "oreo" or an "uncle Tom" any more than I agree with using terms like "want to keep blacks on the plantation." Both just perpetuate racism.

Why is calling Sen. Scott an Uncle Tom or an Oreo, ok for white libs to do, ... but it is not ok for white libs to call him a Ni88er? (except for Bill Maher)

It's not okay and I never said it was. For me none of those terms are acceptable. There are plenty of other standard words in the English language to get across that you don't like something about someone.

"Uncle Tom" is not a racist term in any way, shape, or form.
It merely describes, with offensive intent, an African American who's indifferent to or even helps perpetrate anti-African American racism.

Oreo and Zebra are racial slurs, sometimes used to be purposefully offensive
but also used just for comedic level offensiveness
in reference to people with mixed Afro and Euro American genealogy.

I look at the term in the Uncle Tom's Cabin sense, where the slave is depicted as being subservient to his white masters. I wish Dems would have attacked his ideas without the name-calling.

This is an internet forum, remember?
PoliTalker is the only person on the planet who purports to expect civility from an internet forum.

I very much like cats too, by the way, but my wife's eyes swell up from cat dander.
Our dog tries to befriend cats all the time on her walks, but they tend not to be trusting of her.
Our dog once tried to befriend a seal on the beach.

Well, it was trending on twitter among White Libs, ... so you are the rare exception among the democrat party of slavery and Jim Crow.
