Inflation in April accelerated at its fastest pace in more than 12 years as the U.S. economic recovery kicked into gear and energy prices jumped higher, the Labor Department reported Wednesday.

The Consumer Price Index, which measures a basket of goods as well as energy and housing costs, rose 4.2% from a year earlier. A Dow Jones survey had expected a 3.6% increase. The month-to-month gain was 0.8%, against the expected 0.2%.

Inevitable. Too much worthless borrowed and printed money floating around. I didn’t think it would happen this soon.

So this guy on Tucker tonight said that if the ramp in the first four months continued uninterrupted then Dec 2021 consumer prices would be 20% higher than Dec 2020.

Let's hope that does not happen.

If you feel your money is worthless, I will gladly take it off your hands. You seem pretty poor, but even a small amount of money is a little extra.

Real estate is a great hedge against inflation and I got lots of it, all paid for in full. So I’m not concerned.

Real estate did not do well in the Great Depression, or the Great Recession. It did do well in the Dark Ages.

Whenever real estate gets out of whack with incomes, I just believe it is a bubble. Maybe there is a way for real estate to grow at 20% a year, while incomes grow at 2%, but I do not see how that is possible in the long term.

As for inflation, it has been too low for decades now. Inflation has been diminishing for such a long time, younger people are confused by the Alt Right's fear of it.

I foresee a good economy with inflation. Things back to normal but having to pay back enormous debt.
My real estate is vacation rental property In Hawaii , about 90% paid off, and people are itching to travel again. Our rentals are almost fully booked for the entire summer which is normally very, very slow, plus the same units are selling for 40% above what they were four yrs ago. And this inflation has just started.
I was fortunate during the Great Recession because while most everyone else was in the doldrums my business went to the moon. (True story). We bought stuff dirt cheap in ‘09 and ‘10 .
AFAIC, inflation actually helps me or at minimum it doesn’t hurt.

If they can convince people that the pandemic is over, then Hawaii will take off. But right now, East Asians especially, but most of the world, does not trust America. trump has really put a hole in trust in America.

No one from Japan or China will travel to Hawaii right now. Hawaii is scared to death of people from the Mainland traveling there. So right now, things do not look good... But I wish you good luck. It would be good to get this pandemic behind us.... If that is possible.

But hey!! Trannies (aka: boys) can compete against girls athletically, and the CIA is all about "diversity" as Russians hack our main oil pipeline with ease..

Each island is different. We spent January thru March on the Big Island and it’s basically back to normal except for the phenomenon that masks are only worn when walking into a restaurant but once at a table or bar apparently we’re all immune.
Kauai is still scared they can die of the Wu Flu from their own shadow.

You cannot travel between islands without a vaccination card. They want vaccination cards for people from the mainland.
