I'm stocked up and have been since Trump lost the election. The actions of the Republican leadership, specifically their refusal to investigate themselves and 1/6, prove they are in denial. It will only hurt them by prolonging this.
In 1995, Hugh Grant was busted for paying a street hooker to blow him in his car. It would have killed his career, but Jay Leno talked him into coming onto his show for a mea culpa famously asking "What the hell were you thinking?" The jokes continued, but so did Grant's career.
Yesterday, Jeffrey Toobin when on CNN's Alisyn Camerota show who asked Toobin the same question where Toobin gave a cringeworthy mea culpa. Time will tell if it saves his career, but I suspect it will even if he never becomes a CNN superstar.
If the Republican Party wants to salvage anything by 2022, much less 2024, they need to perform a mea culpa and lead the charge into investigating 1/6. The longer they delay, the worse it will become for them.
