Progressives such as MSNBC host Joy Reid can no longer disingenuously claim that critical race theory is only taught in law schools or that it is only a “lens” for examining American history. The teachers union has nationalized critical race theory and committed to the full range of left-wing radicalism, including opposition to “capitalism” and “anthropocentrism.” at the grade school level.

The nation’s largest teachers union has approved a plan to promote critical race theory in all 50 states and 14,000 local school districts.

Over the weekend, the National Education Association (NEA) held its annual Representative Assembly, with delegates from across the United States voting on priorities and allocating funding for the upcoming school year, with the ideology of critical race theory — a form of race-based Marxism — taking center stage.

The union, which represents
3 million public school employees, approved funding for three separate items related to this issue:
“increasing the implementation” of “critical race theory” in K-12 curricula, promoting critical race theory in local school districts, and attacking opponents of critical race theory, including parent organizations and conservative research centers.

This is a significant reversal. For the past month, liberal pundits and activists have insisted that critical race theory is not taught in K-12 schools. This was always a bad-faith claim — critical race theory has made inroads in public schools for more than a decade — but the NEA’s official endorsement is the final nail in the coffin.

In the resolution, the union agreed to publicly “convey its support” for critical race theory, oppose restrictions in state legislatures, and use schools for political activism. The delegates pledged to “join with Black Lives Matter at School and the Zinn Education Project” to hold a “national day of action” on George Floyd’s birthday, recruiting teachers to hold political demonstrations and “teach lessons about structural racism and oppression.”

The resolution also promised to develop a study to critique “empire, white supremacy, anti-Blackness, anti-Indigeneity, racism, patriarchy, cisheteropatriarchy, capitalism, ableism, [and] anthropocentrism” — that is, adopting the most fashionable and intellectually bankrupt ideas from the universities and bringing them into grade-school classrooms.

NEA passed a resolution to “research the organizations” who oppose critical race theory — including grassroots parent organizations — and provide its operatives resources for attacking them. This is dystopian: The national teachers union will use union dues, originating from taxpayers, to attack public school parents who oppose the racial indoctrination of their children.

The NEA’s militant stance on critical race theory provides much-needed clarity on the issue.

The teachers union has nationalized critical race theory and committed to the full range of left-wing radicalism, including opposition to “capitalism” and “anthropocentrism.”

Moving forward, the question is now clear: Who decides what happens in public schools? Parents, voters and state legislatures? Or the national teachers union and its allies in the public school bureaucracy?

Fortunately, the American public isn’t ready to cede its authority to left-wing ideologues masquerading as educators. According to a recent YouGov survey, 58 percent of Americans oppose critical race theory, including 72 percent of independents who believe teaching it in schools is “bad for America.”

The teacher's union doesn't get to set curricula in public schools. The best remedy for their trying to do so is to start a class action lawsuit against locals that scales up to state wide and then national level. Nothing will make this idea go away faster than the threat of the union being bankrupted in court.

the NEA announced they had a legal defense fund AND were going to "investigate" and sue for CRT curriculum .
They got a lot of money, we just gave them a ton more from COVID relief

The Governor took a victory lap in Sarasota Friday.
June 11, 2021

Gov. Ron DeSantis lauded the decision by the Board of Education to make changes to civics and historical teaching standards.

The move to ban educational approaches such as critical race theory and The 1619 Project was a priority of the Governor’s, who messaged about it repeatedly even as he was on an out-of-state fundraising trip.

In Sarasota Friday, DeSantis offered an unsolicited defense of the decision, saying advocates of critical race theory teach students to “attack cops” even as schools struggle with students who can’t read. He did not specify which schools he meant.

“Some of the nonsense that you see in some of these places around the country. I mean, they will attack cops with this type of ideology in schools, and meanwhile, they have like 87% of the kids that aren’t even literate in some of these schools. So it shows you they’re not trying to educate; they’re trying to indoctrinate,” DeSantis said.

“We’re not going to let that come to Florida. And so I’m glad that they acted. I think it’s the right thing to do. We’re going to make sure that we’re providing access to education, but solid education, free of some of this ideology that people are trying to shove down everybody’s throats.”

“I will NOT allow this Cultural Marxism to Gain a Foothold in Florida Schools,”

Then make them eat it all up defending this crap. If they're too busy just trying to keep it in place they can't be spreading it anywhere.

On the bright side, you can still can go home, gather in pods or Klans, if you will, and churches and still be racist to your little heart's content.

You folk need to draw up a course written by the KKK to counter it.

That would be similar to the KKK right's attempt to introduce creationism in school by intelligent design theory.

The idea that this "CRT" (a novel thing to me under that particular label) would not be taught in school in some fashion
is shocking. Structural racism as a subject has been acknowledged to exist for decades now. It is acknowledged
by courts and legislatures around the globe, not just the USA. It is always brought up in the context of sentencing and jury selection
and effective counsel arguments on appeals. So how can you justify not teaching our kids what is acknowledged as a problem
in the rest of society? In a country that had de jure slavery? Where Indians were pressed into reservations? Where their incarceration
rates for similar crimes so exceeds whites and Asians? How can you justify not teaching about something that real?
Look askance while Scotus does argue about it and legislatures debate and pass laws to remediate its effects? Seriously? :palm:
Social studies is still a class nowadays, right? Seems the perfect place for the academic discussion.

no they are spreading it. Only a few states have banned it -otherwise the state education bureaus let this stuff in

Go for it. The problem with court cases is you have to have facts on your side. If you don't have facts on your side, then the courts will require you to pay for all the court costs of the other side. I'm sure the Teacher's union would love for you to pay all their lawyer fees.

I'll take note that you don't file this lawsuit any time soon.

Democrats should worry less about the courts and more about the politics over their obsession with pushing CRT on public schools. Is there a demand for it? Not that I can tell.

It’s going to create a lot of pushback and create alliances between groups which will be ‘politically inexpedient’ for democrats in the next election. Millions of parents—and by no means all Trump supporters, are stilling feeling the burn over the unnecessary school closures that the teachers unions fell in love with and didn’t want to let go of.

And now many of them perceive that their kids are being ‘taught’ to hate each other.

But this current crop of democrats only knows one direction and it’s damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.

Funny part is you wouldn't know a fact if it but you on your fat ass. Your own dimwitted leader even said you cunts prefer truth to facts. You fucking moron
