Why does the explosion in variants correlate with the vaccines?

I dont think it depends on the number of hosts -i think it's more the possibilities increase over TIME of a mutation becoming a variant

It’s a risk/benefit proposition all dependent on the individual.

Some populations should *absolutely* be vaccinated and some absolutely shouldn’t because these are not FDA approved vaccines. I think it’s immoral and unethical *to even discuss* vaccinating children with a non-FDA treatment when their risk of hospitalization/death is *minimal*.

And you know what else? As little as two years ago that would be *the consensus opinion* in the, much heralded, medical community.

I don’t find it curious at all. There’s a midterm election coming up next year and we have to justify those mail in ballots! I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a Kung Pao variant by next year that turns us all into chinese democrats.

It's a contradiction. And many conservatives are engaging in it.

People were ridiculed for treating COVID as any kind of threat. But all of a sudden, vaccines are some kind of bogeyman.

Non FDA approved *used to be* a boogeyman, of sorts.

You realize long term effects are basically a big question mark, right? There’s a reason FDA approval takes years. I’m healthy and take care of myself so I’ll take my chances with the Chinese Communist Party Virus. My personal physician agrees.

There is a global pandemic - but conservatives have opposed every potential remedy & common sense measure. Distancing, masks, vaccines. It doesn't matter. It's all some big "lefty" thing that needs to be opposed, without regard for logic or science.

The article does not at all support the position that vaccines are causing variants. It talks about OTHER viruses stepping in to fill gaps left by viruses that have been largely eradicated. They used as an analogy the fact that mammals began to propagate after dinosaurs disappeared. Obviously, the disappearance of the dinosaurs didn't cause mammals to appear. DUH. Anatta is an idiot AND a traitor.

Correlation doesn't imply causation. Furthermore, the Delta variant first appeared in India, where enough people weren't getting the original vax due to Modi's screw-ups.

Since correlation doesn’t imply causation does that mean we can throw out all the mask/mitigation data that *correlates* with drops in cases numbers lol?

In those instances where it did actually correlate?
