Like Syria, I don't believe in the Happy Hillary method of just taking all of the world's refugees as a solution. I strongly support a global coalition to neutralize the fucking asshats causing the refugees.

What person wants to become a refugee? Leave the land of their birth, the graves of their ancestors and their culture to become a homeless refugee living in a UN camp? My guess is not very many. The only reason they are leaving is because there are asshats driving them to leave.

My solution is to neutralize all of the guilty asshats, and maybe some not-so-guilty, so there will be no refugees.

I think just a u.s. focus on limiting refugees to a minimum is enough. a global coalition on nationbuilding is exactly what we don't need.

Trump's praise of the Taliban is alarming, considering that the group is known for its brutal, violent tactics. Just this year, the militant group beheaded an Afghan interpreter for the US Army. The Taliban has also been accused of multiple bombings and assassinations.

Agreed. Despite the idiots saying America is an Empire like Britain, Spain or the Romans, we don't force ourselves (for long) and way of life upon others.

We can't give "democracy" and 20th century minds to people living in the 7th Century. They have to grow into it. As we've seen in the ME, that growth is taking over 70 years and probably needs another 50.

People will always argue vague terms like "minimum". What's the minimum? OTOH, a clearly defined line such as "considered to be an essential skill or asset to the United States" is better, but with the requirement that those arguing for a person's acceptance as a refugee then the term must be justified.

All of interpreters and guides deserve our support. Not so much for their corrupt politicians, but certainly the honest ones...as if there are any. hehe.
