What went badly in Afghanistan? Why the hype?

:cruisewhat:

PRETENDING a problem doesnt exist does not mean the problem doesnt exist. Especially when the pretending is only done for partisan political reasons. It accomplishes nothing except to make the person involved look small and petty.

It seems to be a requirement of liberalism to pretend not to know things.

I imagine, like Trump, the plan was to evacuate over time if needed, neither Trump nor Biden had any intel that the Afghan forces would crumble as quickly as they did. We spent 20 years equipping and training them. I think it shocked everyone.

Twenty years equipping and training them, and for what. A Taliban takeover in weeks.

Investigating the Saudis and implementing sanctions, special forces to take out Bin Laden and the training camps.

How about yours?

Something like that, yes.

Still an unanswered question why Bush allowed the bin Laden family to escape the US while all airports were shut down.

Bin Laden and the Training Camps were in Afghanistan. I would do just what the American Military did, go to Afghanistan and destroy Al Qaeda and find it's Leadership and destroy them.

The 9/11 attackers trained in Florida. That is where they learned to fly the planes.

You asked why we went to Afghanistan. Pretty clear to most.
--->'Why we stayed' is a debatable question.
We didn’t have to go in, drones and special forces, like Obama use to get Bin Laden could have done the job.
