A mortal blow to Young Earth creationism

Heh, good point.

Every human culture that we know of, even those that existed before the invention of writing, has its own creation stories. What hubris some have to believe that *their* myth is superior to someone else's.

And that's why science is the only possible way to explain the age of the planet, life arising (and dying out), and arising again.

Science doesn't explain the age of the Earth. The age of Earth is unknown.

They are accepting the Biblical story of Genesis which, as you know, was passed around the campfires for centuries before being written down about 550 BCE.
You do not know when the story of creation was written down.
Additionally, anyone who thinks God couldn't have created the Big Bang 13.5B years ago and knew how it would all work out is limiting God.
There is no scripture describing the Big Bang, other than the scripture of the Church of the Big Bang.
Occam's Razor applies:
Buzzword fallacy.
God gave us brains and expected us to use them.
You aren't using yours.
Buzzword fallacy.
God would not be dishonest by creating a fake universe.
Non-sequitur fallacy.

Lots of "educated" people refer to climate alarmism as "settled science". Not sure I can agree with that remark.
The Church of Global Warming is not science. It is a religion. They can't even define what 'global warming' or 'climate change' means. They routinely deny the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics and the Stefan-Boltzmann law.
We may well come to fill in more gaps in the time frames you suggest or even doubly faster but it will all depend on whatever we dig up to prove the theories.
No theory is ever proven True.
But we certainly can enjoy the discoveries as they keep popping up! For me its like seeing a flower unfold from a bud. Each advance a bit more beautiful than the one before.
Enjoy the process, don't get hung up on what the end result must be.
Agreed.

You can frantically google for random links, but the fact is for the most part you are citing opinions and Creation Science websites which are not legitimate sources of information.
The Theory of Creation is not a theory of science. The Theory of Abiogenesis is not a theory of science. The Theory of Evolution is not a theory of science. The Theory of the Big Bang is not a theory of science. The Theory of the Continuum is not a theory of science.
But thanks for confirming that conservatism is still infected with science denialism
You are describing yourself. It is YOU that denies science.
and young Earth creationism,
does deny science, specifically geology. You are STILL making the assumption that all Christians think the Earth is only 6000 years old. Bigotry.
which some on this thread have attempted to deny
So have you. Kettle logic.
Radiometric isotope techniques, like most laboratory methodologies in science, will always be beset by some uncertainties.
Science is not a methodology. It is not a measurement system. It does not use assumption or inferences. It is not a casino.
The way that scientists deal with that is continual improvement of analytical techniques, and independent corroboration of lab results by other lines of evidence, resulting in a weight of evidence approach.
Science is not a math error. Science is not a laboratory. It is not an 'analytical technique'. Science is a set of falsifiable theories. Nothing more. Nothing less. That's it. That's all.
Wrapping up, frantically googling for random internet links is no way to become scientifically literate.
Scientific literacy comes from effort and hard work, including reading reputable source literature and pursuing higher education.
Science isn't a college or university. Science is not a degree, license, certification, or any other sanctification. Science is not literature.

Science is a set of falsifiable theories. You routinely discard these theories.

The Bible, the Jesus part, is deliberately for uneducated people. All of it.

I get it.

You hate Christianity.

Not other religions

Just Christianity.

Not even the other Abrahamistic faiths.

Just Christianity.

That is why you are not actually a genuine atheist.

You are a militant, anti-christian zealot with a chip on your shoulder.

You will have to be more specific than a meaningless, loaded term like "climate alarmism".

I cannot address buzzwords, I can only address legitimate scientific research and conclusions.

Science isn't a research or a study. Science is not conclusions. Science is a set of falsifiable theories.

My guess is that he got all those links from a creationist site. The Science Daily article was from 2017. They don't understand what they're reading.

I could not care less if he wants to believe that some sky dude created everything. My only objection is when they try to use it to refute first this science, then *all* science. That's how we end up with a pandemic killing idiots who think vaccines are witchcraft or some other nonsense.

Paradox V.

Outside of the fundamentalist American Protestant tradition, reading the Torah literally is even bad Christian theology.

At this point we can say that the rightwing is practicing both scientific illiteracy and bad Christian theology.

Inversion fallacy. You are describing yourself again.
