US nuclear attack submarine collides with an 'unknown object' in the South China Sea

USS Connecticut

There is an almost complete news blackout. Should we thus assume that this incident was the result of bungling from the crew? The Navy is a disaster.

We the citizens have the right to know what happened.

.

Responsibility lies with the commander of the vessel. If he fucked up or someone in the crew, it will be swept under the rug.

This is a super expensive sub.....it should have some of our best crews...if we cant even run the USS Connecticut without hitting things.....

Another thing we dont get told is how much does have women onboard subs now degrade mission capability.

every woman on board is better than you, braver than you, smarter than you and can kick your chickenshit ass.

I really cant come up with anything other than we are getting told next to nothing because the story is very embarrassing for the Navy.

Would not clearing the bottom of a ship count as an "underwater collision"?

That is an extremely vague term, and of course we are not told anything about depth. .

You want to know classified military operations? Are you going to sell them to China or Russia like Trump?

That's not how it works. If the fault was the Connecticut's, the Captain will be relieved. The Connecticut is a fast attack sub with a crew of 116 and a cost of $3B. The Navy takes this shit seriously.

“The Seawolf-class fast-attack submarine USS Connecticut (SSN-22) struck an object while submerged on the afternoon of Oct. 2, while operating in international waters in the Indo-Pacific region. The safety of the crew remains the Navy’s top priority. There are no life-threatening injuries,” Capt. Bill Clinton told USNI News.
“The submarine remains in a safe and stable condition. USS Connecticut’s nuclear propulsion plant and spaces were not affected and remain fully operational. The extent of damage to the remainder of the submarine is being assessed. The U.S. Navy has not requested assistance. The incident will be investigated.”

A defense official told USNI News about 11 sailors were hurt in the incident with moderate to minor injuries. The attack boat is now headed to Guam and is expected to pull in within the next day, the official said. The underwater strike occurred in the South China Sea and the attack boat has been making its way to Guam on the surface since Saturday, a defense official confirmed to USNI News.

You don't have a fucking clue on what happened. Try looking up previous incidents with the fucking Russians in the Black Sea and the Med for a clue.

Anyone remember the USS Scorpion? My oldest brothers ship was one of a vast armada of ships searching for it back in about 68 I believe. He was aboard a navigational research ship so they were pretty useful. 99 Sailors went down on the Scorpion. Was a pretty big deal back then,...to say the least. 3 or 4 other Subs all went down in that same year, not all were American though, one of them soviet. I think the others were French.

Have a friend who spent a good deal of his career as an officer aboard nuclear subs. Some are defensive, some are offensive. HUGE difference. ;) My friend is straight up old school serious professional. Meaning,....all these years later he wont even say shit to me other than common knowledge. Thats good though,...how it should be. As the old saying goes,.... loose lips sink ships. I get the vibe that there is more cloak and dagger games going on down there then anyone could ever imagine.

Most of what you say may be true. But the fact remains, women on board of a tin cigar 300 feet under the sea with a predominantly horny male crew is a distraction.
I am in no way saying women are incapable, I'm saying it could lead to some bad things happening.

The Connetticut is a fast attack submarine, an offensive weapon. $20 says she collided with a Chinese attack sub or boomer playing Cat and Mouse:

Could easily be the case. Hopefully its also a case of.........." yeah,...well you should see what the other guy looks like!!!" ;)
If the ship was at fault, the Captain will be relieved and that will become public knowledge.

If the ship was not at fault, then the incident will be kept under wraps.

...and, yes, I'd love to see what the other guy looked like!

BTW:
Actually I am an Army vet, and a woman who could probably mop the floor with your snotty little bitch punk ass.

You're a stolen valor cocksucker, Terry O'Brien.

I have a feeling this is going to be one of those stories that just slowly fizzles out and forgotten,....on purpose. I also have a feeling that there just might be a bunch of Chinese laying at the bottom of the ocean inside an imploded hulk. ;)

Boys,....I cant be a part of this one...LOL Ive got more than enuff battles on my plate in here already. Im gonna have to play the role of Switzerland on this deal. You two are going to have to just fight this one out on your own.
