They don't have any money, they're college students. The best you can hope for is to make them STFU for a bit.
I'd be inclined to initiate an asset search, and look for contingent liability.

Found in Wisconsin code under damages for libel. Deciding that a homicide is murder is one of a number of possible interpretations of that act and there can be no question that Rittenhouse committed a homicide since his defense was that he was justified in committing it. You will find that the Az code isn't much different from Wisconsin.

A public figure is a person of great public interest or fame, such as a politician, celebrity, or sports hero. The term usually used in the context of libel and defamation actions, where the standards of proof are higher if the party claiming defamation is a public figure and therefore has to prove disparaging remarks were made with actual malice.
A person may also be considered a "limited purpose" public figure by having thrust themselves to the forefront of particular public controversies in order to influence the resolution of the issues involved. The determination is made on a case-by-case basis, taking the particular facts into account.
then every lib'rul pundit who called him a homicide-er instead of a murderer may have a defense.....

So you are going to argue that homicide is so far different from murder that to call him one when it is the other is a malicious lie?
you are applying the rule backwards......they called him a murderer........the issue isn't how many interpretations of homicide there are........the issue is how many interpretations of murder there are.....

I'd go for a max lawsuit against the individuals within these groups that can be identified using small claims court. Hit them each for a $3,500 lawsuit and force them into small claims court. Hire a lawyer to run all the cases giving say 50% as their expense to do it. You win if they fail to show. If you already have good evidence and other wins, you're likely to win again. Then you can spend years harassing them to pay up. If they go to get a job post graduation, it will be an issue with many companies that see you have open lawsuits against them as well as a bad mark on their credit score making even getting an apartment more difficult. Win like 10 to 20 cases and you're talking $35,000 and up for a total take. Easy, cheap, and once you win a few, the rest fall like dominos. Go a step further with the most nasty of the bunch and try to get on The People's Court or Judge Judy with your case. Let the whole nation see what total assholes these radical Leftists really are.
Rittenhouse isn't a "public figure." The head of a large corporation is. A politician in a higher position is.
Rittenhouse may have wide notoriety, but that doesn't make him a public figure.

Let's see...
The four student groups that want Rittenhouse gone are:
Students for Socialism
MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlán)
Students for Justice in Palestine
Multicultural Solidarity Coalition
So, one tiny group of Socialists, two tiny groups that support terrorism, genocide, and racism, and one of general radical Leftist nutbags, that amount in total to probably less than 100 students (out of over 53,000 on ASU's campuses or about 1/10th of 1%) want Rittenhouse gone.

It'll be interesting to see how many students (and non-student Leftist crazies) show up in support of this for their protest Wednesday...
So Rittenhouse has not been a person of great public interest?
In the Supreme Court ruling that defines public figure, one of the deciding factors is whether the person has access to the media. There can be little question that Rittenhouse has access to the media as he has appeared on Fox News and was followed around by Fox during the trial.
Nope. It's defamation pro se.
Plaintiff need not establish malicious intent.
Nope. Rittenhouse didn't set out to become a national figure. Rittenhouse got interviewed by Fox, but until he starts going on Fox or other news stations of his own volition rather than by invitation, he isn't really a public figure. He simply has wide notoriety and recognition.
Meh.
Their organizations likely have assets, and I'm certain the University that allowed them to defame Mr. Rittenhouse does.
The fact is that almost all civil litigation is settled pretrial and no public disclosure of terms is normally made.
If the plaintiff is a public figure then the malicious intent is required.

Lol, I'm sure glad no Aztlan ( Mexicans) or Palestinians ever killed anybody!
