Because Rittenhouse did go on trial for murder that makes him a public figure which raises the standard to a level that makes any defamation suit impossible. OJ Simpson is a much better comparison. You will notice OJ has not won any lawsuits against anyone calling him a murderer. In fact he lost a civil case that did just that.
