Anticipation is building around Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s announcement that he will model a gun control measure in California after Texas' abortion ban. Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley, however, says the plan won’t work.

"If the law is crafted as Newsom suggests, this won’t work legally. Nevertheless, there will be much cooing on cable programs at the cleverness of Newsom and the comeuppance for conservatives. Newsom will seize the moment in terms of popularity while leaving the costs to others to bear in the later failed litigation," Turley wrote in a post on his blog Sunday morning.

A Supreme Court decision Friday left Texas’ six-week abortion ban in place, but said abortion providers have the right to challenge the law in federal court. The Texas law allows private citizens to enforce the ban by allowing them to sue anyone who helps a woman get an abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected.

The decision left Newsom "outraged," and he announced that he will fashion a gun control measure after Texas’ abortion law.

"I am outraged by yesterday’s U.S. Supreme Court decision allowing Texas’s ban on most abortion services to remain in place," Newsom wrote in a statement Saturday evening. "But if states can now shield their laws from review by the federal courts that compare assault weapons to Swiss Army knives, then California will use that authority to protect people’s lives, where Texas used it to put women in harm’s way."

There is no Constitutional right to abortion (murder of the unborn).

There is a Constitutional right to own firearms.

He knows it's unconstitutional, just as Texas knows that their abortion law is.

The issue is to poke at McConnell's Supreme Court jesters.

But they will both ride this out as the Supreme Court jesters twist themselves into knots trying to make a flawed distinction

The Constitutional scholar, Dr. Jonathan Turley, has been right on every legal case involving the Constitution that I have seen.

A federal judge overturned that ban in June, ruling it was unconstitutional and drawing the ire of the state’s DEMOCRAT leaders by comparing the popular AR-15 rifle to a Swiss Army knife as “good for both home and battle.” California’s ban remained in place while the state appealed.

Fox is not a credible link. There most certainly is a constitutional right to abortion. Just because you don't like the way it is technically protected, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.


How far did the Court have to reach to claim that corporations are people?

Fun fact: he was fucking his best friend's wife during his campaign, and his best friend was his campaign manager.

Newsom and Rippey Gibney had an affair when she worked as the then-mayor’s appointments secretary. At the time, she was married to the DEMOCRAT’S campaign manager and friend, Alex Tourk.

Quote the section of the Constitution that legalizes the murder of the unborn, abortion.

As one of the Supreme Court justices said, “settled law” has been changed many times.

Roe vs Wade is soon to be overturned. I think you know that and is why the far left are terrified that soon, they no longer will be able to murder their own children.

If you need the amendment number that guarantees citizens the right to gun ownership, I can provide that.
