Omicron Not the Last Variant - Thank Righties for the Next One

Untrue. The Delta variant proved much worse than the original strain. There is zero way to predict whether the next variant -- which is already out there -- will be more or less infective and/or lethal than the others.

The Delta variant is pure fiction. It is not possible to have a variant of a variant.
Covid19 does not kill.

You are describing Democrats.

Right, Democrats told America Covid was contained, not coming here, just another flu, no worse than the common cold, will be gone by May, will be gone by June, is ending in September, can be treated with bleach and neon lights, etc., etc., etc..

Too bad the scientists don't agree. As the article states, there is no guarantee the next variant will be any milder or that vaccines, already working less on Omicron, will be any more effective against it.

Go hide under the bed and piss yourself then, motherfucker!

IDGAF!

Do you think I could have been betrayed?

I think you should launch an investigation into the matter, and as well understand that someone is doing everything they can to put us at war with each other.

Whom ever this is is most certainly not on your side.

It's known now that Covid is similar to other viruses in its ability to spawn variants. This seems to be a self protective mechanism within the virus to help it survive, and anti-vaxxers are doing their bit to help it along. Omicron has been milder than earlier strains but it also has proved to be more elusive of vaccines. The next one could be more elusive still and not at all milder. For this we have largely to thank the politics of Covid that has convinced millions of people to remain unvaccinated and thereby make themselves laboratories for Covid's next chapter.

Call faucci. He will have the definitive solution.

Geerts latest:

We keep being flooded with exciting news about the magic contribution of T cells to preventing disease or avoiding progression to severe disease (https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-00063-0: ‘Killer’ immune cells still recognize Omicron variant). Given the caliber and reputation of the scientists authoring these publications, one would almost end up believing that T cells are, indeed, doing the trick! However, the interpretation of these data is highly questionable. There is now a plethora of publications that strongly suggest a potential role of SARS-CoV-2-reactive memory T cells in abrogating SARS-CoV-2 infection and preventing Covid-19 disease. However, the authors of these papers don’t seem to feel the need for distinguishing between T cell-mediated cross-reactivity / cross recognition and cross-protection. There is no proof, however, that cross-reactive SARS-CoV-2 memory T cells can abrogate infection and prevent Covid-19 disease (1). Even though stimulation of SARS-CoV-2-reactive T memory cells correlates with protection from Covid-19 disease, correlation does not imply causation and it is, indeed, more reasonable to assume that cross-reactive T cell responses directed at SARS-CoV-2-derived proteins / peptides are rather the consequence than the cause of control of infection (2).
*

Although it seems plausible that cross-reactive T cells (originating from exposure to previous SARS-CoV-2 variants or other CoVs) may prevent progression to severe disease and hence, prevent hospitalization, this has not been unambiguously proven either. Again, correlation does not imply causation: Resistance of Omicron to neutralizing vaccinal antibodies (Abs) restores the functional capacity of the innate line of immune defense and likely explains protection in vaccinees. As already discussed, not T cell immunity but innate, CoV-reactive immunity has the capacity to abrogate infection and hence, to protect against (severe) disease. As innate immunity can also be trained upon repeated exposure (pandemic!), innate immune effector cells continue to play a critical role even in older age groups. It is, therefore, unlikely that protection against Omicron in vaccinees is vaccine-mediated. Consequently, the conclusion that the efficacy of the vaccine against severe disease is not affected by Omicron doesn’t seem right to me.
Based on all of the above, it is reasonable to assume that lower rates of hospitalization in unvaccinated as compared to vaccinated individuals are not due to T cell-mediated protection but to the immune suppressive impact of high infection rates on relevant innate immune Abs in unvaccinated individuals who’ve been re exposed shortly after previous infection (however, there is now increasing evidence that the opposite applies in that Omicron causes higher rates of hospitalization in the vaccinated than in the unvaccinated!).
*

Many of the scientists who are now claiming a protective role of CoV-reactive T cell epitopes and are even advocating for the inclusion of cross-reactive T cell epitopes in new Covid-19 vaccines are the same who used to shout from the rooftops that T cell based vaccines would protect against HIV, TB, Malaria and many other chronic infectious diseases. However, they never delivered on those goals. Now, they are trying to make us believe that T cell epitopes contribute to vaccine efficacy against SARS-CoV-2 and that we should, therefore, include more of these epitopes in future Covid-19 vaccines! Their interpretation completely ignores the critical role of innate immunity in fighting CoVs and that any additional inclusion of cross-reactive T cell epitopes may even be at risk of inducing immune pathology. It can, indeed, not be ruled out that vaccine-mediated recall of cross-reactive CD4+ T memory cells, for example, promotes immune pathology in a subset of genetically predisposed individuals. Isn’t it surprising that several of these research groups are obtaining direct funding from vaccine companies that are heavily engaged in the ongoing mass vaccination campaigns?

*

Conclusion:

The erroneous interpretation of the role of cross-reactive, CoV-specific T memory cell as a key contributor to the protection of vaccinees from (severe) Covid-19 disease is only grist to the mill of those who can’t see the critical role of our first line of immune defense against CoVs as they are blinded by their addiction to mass vaccination campaigns.

That's exactly what they did...and they still do.

It's a profound lack of understanding, based on the fundamentalism of the Church of Covid.

So many people are so shit that they assume that whatever power tells them is the truth, that is a lot of the problem. Now Peter Hitchens has said flat out that a great many now simply cant think for themselves, this is a direct result of the schools being destroyed, and that there is no hope....but I would like to think that he is wrong.

There is nothing in science that supports the idea that "natural immunity is better." In fact, there are now hundreds of thousands of ppl who were not vaxxed who are on their 3rd and 4th infection. BTW, the same bullshit was said about Delta. As we can see, the fat lady has yet to sing.

^ That's quite anti-science, because yes there is.

Seriously, it's been like that since the inception of vaccinations. The first people and all the people involved in those studies prove that.

You have to figure out how to power-search the search engines to remove "covid" to get an honest answer.

These are things that have been known since the 50s. I'm not trying to hear any bullshit from liars saying this is all that different.

The inventor of vaccines knew that getting the actual thing produces stronger and longer-lasting antibodies, proved it time and time again, and all of sudden they were wrong because muh Covid?

I don't think so. Homie don't play that.

If I could search back a few months, I found all the evidence, a study by 2 scientists, the whole nine yards.

All you have to do is remove "Covid" results from natural immunity vs. vaccination when searching.

It's not THAT special to where it defies everything from ever before, no.

He is wrong. The schools are certainly fucked up, but many parents are homeschooling now or using private education, since the public schools have essentially failed.

WOW, this is low quality for you. The number of people being homeschooled today has nothing to do with how many adults are incapable of thinking for themselves, and how that happened.

Remember too that the elite private schools when WOKE earlier and harder than the public schools generally.

What you say is true for many infections, but not for COVID. If you survive smallpox, measles, etc. you have almost a life-long immunity. If you survive COVID, you very likely can get it again quickly -- like in just a few months. It is not the same as those other diseases.

Have you noticed how the Left steadfastly refuses to pin any blame on minorities?

https://abcnews.go.com/Health/us-blacks-latinos-remain-covid-19-vaccine-deliberate/story?id=79830353

We don't blame minorities because their vax rate has caught up very closely to that of whites. Plus it is rare to see a black celebrity posting lies and misinformation and telling ppl not to get vaxxed. Reichwing whites though... we got those doing that in droves.

I am not buying that. I haven't had the flu bad since I was 15, and that was a long time ago. Decades. So is Covid a weaponized China virus or something that defies all norms of everything that's been before forever? Is that your assertion?

My assertion is that a natural infection with the SARS-COV-2 virus is not the same in any way to the natural immunity from a smallpox, a measles, a mumps, a chickenpox, or even an influence infection.

The virus is not some weaponized Chinese creation. It is a coronavirus. This group behaves differently than the more familiar DNA viruses.

Some light reading. lol

Omicron is a nothing burger. When it exits, it's all but over. All the people Omicron infected will have natural immunity which is far superior. This is the final act; which should be obvious.
