Whoopie suspended

Been through this, gave my life to Christ 26 years ago! Today could be your day repent and be saved!

I love how she pretends she might quit. LOL. She ain't quitting and this "suspension" is so anyone with actual brain cells that isn't "on her side" doesn't ask her questions on TV. Basically, they are telling her to go home and check on what her basement looks like for 2 weeks so that something else will be in the news by the time she emerges.

where was that? rule 16b?

You mean the Dutch Uncle rule.

We'll call this new rule the Dutch Uncle rule.

Almost, change the name to make it obvious. Adding a bit of "the greatest" or "the whatever" can still allow users to catch the name and assume. E@rl or something like that would do. Think of it like hitting them over the head with the fact that you are the one putting the words in the quote, not the OP.

Note the passive-aggressive response:

Thanks, Damo. I should have realized how thin-skinned Earl is and should have done as you corrected. I'll remember it in the future.

The Power of ‘No’

The simplest of words is the key to defeating cancel culture.

If Americans wish to improve the country’s culture, harmony, and mood, they would do well to practice using that most useful and elementary of English words: No.

That’s “No” as in, “No, I don’t care that you’re offended, go away,” or “No, I won’t punish others for your intolerance,” or, “No, you can’t stay here and make stupid demands. I’m busy, and you should be too.”

  • “I want you to fire James for his tweet.”
  • “No.”
  • “But I’m upset.”
  • “No.”
  • “But I’m offended, and hurt, and shocked.”
  • “No.”
  • “But I’m struggling.”
  • “No.”
  • “But words are violence, and my safety has been imperiled, and I’m literally shaking in my room.”
  • “No.”

Agreed she won't be quitting but she may be tired of the bullshit and want to retire. ABC should have stood behind Whoopie after she gave a sincere apology. What she did wasn't a Paula Deen moment. It's semantics about the most egregious genocide in human history which took place in another country and two generations from Whoopi's generation** and America's views on what defines "race".

It's a good example of LW fear-mongering gone too far. ABC could have sent Whoopi to Hawaii to research beaches for two weeks but they failed to stand by her after she apologized and overreacted with a public flogging on TV via "suspension".

She was temp-banned for two weeks. That's a punishment, not a neutral reaction.

**Whoopi's father was 15 in 1945.

I wonder if it's all a publicity stunt to boost ratings.
