That's fine if their issue is substance abuse, addiction to jumping off buildings, or something that just kills them. Unfortunately in this case their choices affect you, me, and everyone else. At what point does an individual's personal choice override that of thousands or millions of others'?

Which is why I support State/local ordinances and allowing businesses to protect their employees. The Federal government should dispense advice and support, not dictate rules.

That said, the Feds can offer incentives to do the right thing. Part of the problem is like building bomb shelters in the middle of a bombing attack; a bit too late. Our nation is complacent about the realities of the world which is why 9/11 was such a shock. 20 years later and, as a nation, we're still naïve enough to be shocked by reality. Our education system is not connected to reality.

If a town wants to blow off all common sense and falls apart because people are constantly out sick, that's their choice All their own State and the national agencies can/should do is advise and provide support.
