So, You Want $15 An Hour?

The poor will always be with you.

A thousand years from now, the poor will be trying to get “sufficiency” from those who risk their investments in themselves. The 85 year old posted that he was a bartender...to old Blue Eyes.

President Trump...in the top five best presidents.
Even a Viscount knows the difference between the Poor and official poverty.

One study claims to have observed a multiplier of Two.

Only the right-wing is that clueless and that Causeless when it comes to economics.

The LBJ war on Poverty cost a trillion dollars and the poverty level did not change.

Get a clue.

You are an idiot, SG...and if you actually have two successful companies, I suspect they exist in spite of you rather than because of you.

Anyway, a few comments:

1) I left home at age 17 (enlisted in the Air Force)...and have supported myself ever since. I have worked very hard...and when a job became less than fulfilling, I'd leave and work somewhere else. My presentation is such that I have never had much trouble landing that next job. Your comments on that score are bullshit.

2) You, and the others like you, fuck workers by getting them at the lowest price possible...rather than the supposed "fair price" you pretend you pay. Labor is easy to exploit...and you are an exploiter. Your comments to the contrary are bullshit.

3) My "jealousy" is "palpable???" What in the name of hell makes you think you have anything to be jealous of? You seem like an uptight, unhappy person who has almost no humanity at all. I'd sooner be jealous of a rock...although jealousy and envy are not really part of my make-up. I consider myself to be one of the most lucky people on the planet. Your thoughts on that issue...are bullshit.

4) Your thoughts that I am lazy are also bullshit, but I won't even get into that....other than to say that along with earning my way through life since age 17 (I'm now 85)...I have spent untold numbers of hours working as a volunteer in my community. I have served on a half-dozen important commissions...all with LOTS of work involved. Your "lazy" remarks are bullshit.

5) "You hate people like me who are successful and who has a company with high paying jobs that you'll never be qualified for."

You have no idea of what I am qualified for. But you like to dream up bullshit...so dream away. In any case, I do not "hate" anyone, you included. I just think you are an idiot...and a bullshitter. But I think I have made that clear.

Exactly. SG, if he / she does have such a company has to be doing something useless like being a liar... err, lawyer--I always seem to get those confused. That's the only way those employees could be pulling down $100 K or more each.

That aside, you work hard, save and invest and you end up in a comfortable place later in life. You make things better for your kids too (another failing of the Left. They hate nuclear families).

Me? I have three scheduled service calls right now. It's not like I need the money--I'm shopping for a new house in the $750,000 to $1 million range and have quotes to buy a new backhoe (likely a series 2 2025 John Deere) for $40 K including a trailer to haul it. Whether you want to believe that or not, that's your business.

Anyway, I'll go to the two apartment complexes and do the service calls to stay busy. Yea, I'll make a couple hundred on them (both entail replacing all the existing receptacles and switches and that takes about 3 to 4 hours). It's way more than $15 an hour too. Even the help gets $20 an hour (god, I hate those 1099's). That's what happens when you acquire more skills and education rather than accept a dead-end job.

Yeah, pre-LBJ was the way to go. He fucked up America pretty good.

I had no idea, until for some reason an older cousin told me all about it one Christmas.

How it was throughout their lifetime and all that. LBJ with free food and housing for nothing at the taxpayer's expense. It has propagated people that don't want to work at all.

Before LBJ, you either worked in America, or starved to death. A lesson learned by the Pilgrims.

The point is, we can solve for (official) poverty even if not actually being Poor since it will become relative.

Indeed and work or starve was successful (with help for those so are mentally or physically impaired).

C'mon Frank, you've never run a business, dude. You have always been a cog in a machine. A fairly paid cog in a machine.

You had to conform to their standards or not be published, correct?

You made a life for yourself and all that, but here's the thing: There's many ways to make it in America.

Also, (and I'm sure you'll disregard/disagree on this part) MAGA is really just about getting back the opportunities you and I and Street Glider have had because they are disappearing for upcoming generations.

Tell me you weren't taught that 1 week's work should pay for your housing. I know I was..It costs them more now, and that's not fair.

Agree with lots you said here, Matt.

But...it is my opinion (just an opinion) that in a country with the kind of wealth we have...EVERYONE should have a basic income without regard to work.

EVERYONE benefits. The people, working or not, spend the money...which is what the exploiters want. It doesn't get buried...it gets spent. The people spending it get their needs met...and the people selling what they spend it on...get closer to the "rich" they want to be.

Once EVERYONE gets sufficient...the dog eat dog world kicks in.

And the people who have sufficient can elect to work. They might ask for a bit more of the income generated...but so what.

You are an idiot, SG...and if you actually have two successful companies, I suspect they exist in spite of you rather than because of you.

I'm going to start with this: It's laughable that you claim to know anything about me yet, in the same breath, insist I know nothing about you.

Oh, and that you're you're a scumbag hypocrite...

When was the last time you actually had a job, Methuselah? The Reagan administration?

2) You, and the others like you, fuck workers by getting them at the lowest price possible...rather than the supposed "fair price" you pretend you pay. Labor is easy to exploit...and you are an exploiter. Your comments to the contrary are bullshit.

Suck on this, Gramps: There's not a single person who works in either one of my companies who's paid minimum wage. Not one. Minimum wage in Florida right now is $10 an hour. The lowest wage anyone starting to work at my company will see is $12.75 an hour. I would be really hard-pressed to give a fuck whether or not you believe me, because I know the truth, and the truth is that I provide an inviting, fun and vibrant working environment for my employees...

3) My "jealousy" is "palpable???" What in the name of hell makes you think you have anything to be jealous of? You seem like an uptight, unhappy person who has almost no humanity at all.

Yup, it sure is.

I earn a lot of money. It hasn't always been like that. I learned 100 different ways to prepare every "just add hot water" noodle meal there is. I once sold my car so I could keep my doors open for another two months. I did what I had to do to remain in business and not be a complete fucking failure at life like you.

You're jealous as fuck. You're just too big a coward to admit it, that's all. I'm 59 and could retire tomorrow and live the rest of my life in a ridiculous level of comfort. But I enjoy my work, and I appreciate that I have people who enjoy working for me. I'm not working so I can get more of anything. Going to work with the people I employ is probably the best feeling I've ever known...

4) Your thoughts that I am lazy are also bullshit, but I won't even get into that....other than to say that along with earning my way through life since age 17 (I'm now 85)..
.

I think you're lying. I simply don't believe you. The way you seem to think that those who don't want to work should be given a paycheck is evidence of that...

I have spent untold numbers of hours working as a volunteer in my community. I have served on a half-dozen important commissions...all with LOTS of work involved. Your "lazy" remarks are bullshit.

You're a lazy old man with a sippy cup and a diaper...

5) You have no idea of what I am qualified for. But you like to dream up bullshit...so dream away. In any case, I do not "hate" anyone, you included. I just think you are an idiot...and a bullshitter. But I think I have made that clear.

And you're a senile old man who is jealous of anyone who's successful...

Exactly. SG, if he / she does have such a company has to be doing something useless like being a liar... err, lawyer--I always seem to get those confused.

Fuck you. I don't lie. I don't have to.

And, no, I'm not a lawyer. In fact, I never even went to college.

And I could buy and sell your punk ass...

That's the only way those employees could be pulling down $100 K or more each.

Well, that just shows how absolutely ignorant someone like you can be...

That aside, you work hard, save and invest and you end up in a comfortable place later in life. You make things better for your kids too (another failing of the Left. They hate nuclear families).

I think it's hysterical that you say this: "That aside, you work hard, save and invest and you end up in a comfortable place later in life. You make things better for your kids too" and then stupidly try to ridicule someone who's worked hard, saved and invested and has ended up in a comfortable place later in life, and who's made things better for his kid, too.

You've got your head firmly rammed up your ass...

Me? I have three scheduled service calls right now. It's not like I need the money--I'm shopping for a new house in the $750,000 to $1 million range and have quotes to buy a new backhoe (likely a series 2 2025 John Deere) for $40 K including a trailer to haul it. What's your monthly nut likely to be on that $1 million mortgage?0

One study claims to have observed a multiplier of Two.

Those making that study are clearly idiots.

Welfare simplified: The government takes $10 from someone producing something that generates wealth. They use $2 of that to pay people to take and redistribute it, generating nothing. The other $8 they hand to someone who can then spend it in a multitude of ways that doesn't generate any wealth. The net result is a drain on wealth, not a multiplier of it.
The reason for that is, the $10 could have been spent by the one generating it to the same effect, or in part reinvested to generate additional wealth. Redistribution is not a wealth generator.

Only the left-wing is that clueless and that Causeless when it comes to economics.

There, fixed that for you. The Left are the ones that invented Socialism and its more virulent cousin, Communism. They are the ones that suggest that wealth is finite and that redistribution of that finite wealth is morally justified. The non-Left recognizes that wealth can be generated and increased in amount. It isn't fixed. The Right came up with the concept of Time Value of Money too.

The Left is clueless about economics. That's probably because Leftists eschew math and science. That's why they get simple liberal arts degrees that don't require math and science.

I'm going to start with this: It's laughable that you claim to know anything about me yet, in the same breath, insist I know nothing about you.

Oh, and that you're you're a scumbag hypocrite...

Oh, shit. It was easier to rattle your cage than I expected.

Big shot...all in a lather. You are closer to being a cartoon charater.

Anyway, a few comments:

When was the last time you actually had a job, Methuselah? The Reagan administration?

Nope. Still working. Only two days a week for the most part, but I enjoy working and the perks are great.

Easy, Boy, you are allowing your panties to get twisted.

Okay, so you "...provide an inviting, fun and vibrant working environment for my employees..." And I suppose that because you do, they do not mind that you have no true humanity.

Fine with me.

Tsk, tsk. My guess: I am much more successful "at life" than you will ever be. I am happy and content...and you sound as though you are neither.

Jealousy is simply not something that part of me...in any way. And if I were jealous...I seriously doubt I would be jealous of you. You sound like someone who should be pitied, not someone to be jealous of.
.

I think you're lying. I simply don't believe you. The way you seem to think that those who don't want to work should be given a paycheck is evidence of that...

Aha...we may have made a break-through here. You mistakenly think I give a shit about what you think.

Not sure where you got that idea, but let it go. It ain't so.

You're a lazy old man with a sippy cup and a diaper...

I am old...but no sippy cup and no diaper.

Untwist your panty, SG. You'll feel better.

And you're a senile old man who is jealous of anyone who's successful...

I am definitely not senile...or we would not be having this pleasant back-and-forth discussion. And I am not the jealous type at all. If I were, as I mentioned a couple of times now, I would surely not be jealous of you.

;)
