Latest Boeing 737 Max News

They would rather buy their own product first, then Airbus....Boeing is their last choice.

Of course but the C919 has run into big problems getting certified.

China's aviation regulator said on Friday that there is still a huge amount of testing to be done for the home-grown narrowbody C919 aircraft to be certified, raising doubt over planemaker COMAC's year-end target.

So far, the C919, China's attempt to rival Airbus SE and Boeing Co, has completed only 34 certification tests out of 276 planned, Yang Zhenmei, a Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) official, told reporters.

Reuters in September reported COMAC has found it harder to meet certification and production targets for the C919 amid tough U.S. export rules, according to three people with knowledge of the programme.

China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd said in August it expected to receive its first C919 by the end of the year, but that would require the model to be certified.

COMAC is years behind its initial certification schedule and it did not take the C919 to China's biggest air show in Zhuhai in September.

C919 Chief Designer Wu Guanghui last month recommended CAAC continue to focus on certification as a priority for next year and asked it to step up resources to help with the delivery and commercial operations of the plane.

EXCLUSIVE Boeing aims to nearly double 737 MAX production by end 2023

SEATTLE/PARIS, March 4 (Reuters) - Boeing Co (BA.N) has preliminary plans to boost production of its cash cow 737-family narrowbody to around 47 per month by the end of next year, as the U.S. planemaker looks to extend its recovery from successive crises, two people familiar with the matter said.

Boeing’s 737 MAX Jet Is Nearing a Milestone

Updated April 4, 2022 4:58 pm ET / Original April 4, 2022 4:11 pm ET

Aircraft lessor Air Lease said it was buying 32 more Boeing 737 MAX jets, bringing the total number of orders since the plane returned to commercial service to near 1,000—the latest evidence that the commercial aviation industry continues to support the aircraft.

The 737 MAX is, of course, Boeing’s (ticker: BA) newest single-aisle jet. It competes with the likes of the Airbus (AIR. France) A320 family of planes. The MAX was grounded worldwide from March 2019 to November 2020 following two deadly crashes inside of five months.

Canada’s Flair Airlines has announced the next round of its major fleet expansion. The airline plans to lease an additional 14 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft for delivery in 2023, more than doubling its fleet compared to where it stands today. The primary motive behind the fleet growth is expansion, with plans to continue adding new points to its network.

Er.........................

April 7 2022 (Reuters) - A Boeing Co (BA.N) 737 MAX meant for China Eastern Airlines (600115.SS) subsidiary Shanghai Airlines landed in Shanghai on Thursday, flight tracking websites showed, amid uncertainty over when the model will resume flying in China.

Flight BOE631 from Guam came more than three weeks after the first 737 MAX bound for a Chinese customer since a 2019 grounding began its journey from Seattle to Boeing's completion plant in Zhoushan.

The plane, painted in Shanghai Airlines livery, had been stuck on the ground in Guam since March 15 due to a minor technical issue.
