NYT admits Jan 6 committee all about getting Trump

It doesn't matter what side of this you're on, whether you like Trump or hate him, but rather everyone needs to admit what this committee is really about rather than claim some diversion.

Even if Trump is never prosecuted the important thing is that the entire country and the world needs to know what kind of dangerous piece of shit Trump is and what he tried to do.

That is the best thing that can come out of this.

Whether it does or not, come November, the whole Jan 6 committee comes to an end. That's a virtual guarantee at this point.

But how many outside those that already believe as you do, are going to buy the show trial versus giving Trump a chance to defend himself before the committee? So long as the committee is fixated on a pre-set outcome and one-sided in their presentation, few if any minds will be changed.

I think you're wrong.

They are presenting the FACTS, not a bunch of made up bullshit like Trump spouts.

The case they are making against Trump is beyond compelling.

They've got the audio, the video, the testimony from people in Trump's own White House, the Capitol Police, etc, etc, etc.

The public at large is not so totally stupid that they cannot decide things for themselves when solid, factual proof is laid out before them in the form of a real time visual record.

I understand why you all are so upset and in denial over these hearings, though.

They could turn out to be the magic bullet and miracle the Dems need to salvage the midterms and 2024.

And keep in mind, it is only you rabid Trump cultists who are willing to excuse and overlook all the crimes and treason that has been committed both by him and for him in his name.

The majority of the country are not part of the brainwashed Trump cult and as such, are more than willing to vote for someone else if a convincing case is made against him.

And I think these hearings are just such a case.

They are presenting what they want to present. Was there a single person present during that whole presentation that was adversarial and questioning the validity of any of what was presented? Was there anyone who presented alternative information, facts, or other stuff?

A one-sided presentation is a show trial, not a debate, not a hearing, not an objective look at anything.

Not if the Dems increase their numbers in both houses. Because of the 1/6 investigation and the Republican's reaction to the recent mass shootings, it's not looking good for the GOP.

You are hoping most Americans believe this is a "show trial'. I disagree. Recent events, such as the 1/6 findings and revelations about Uvalde... I don't think people think that.

No. I think the 20 mullion people who watch the horrific events unfold.. I think they feel this thing has provided them closure and a renewed sense of patriotism

Republicans are traitors. I knew that. Now the whole world does.

Well, no. But I am aware that millions of Americans who previously had questions about who or what attacked us on 1/6 and the criminality and pre-planning that went into it. Not only that, but the hypocrisy of the GOP has been exposed with those text.

No, I don't think I'm being irrational. I think the GOP is in serious trouble.
