Congratulations, you took freedom away…

It’s actually the right to Privacy, which was much larger than abortion. It was the right to make basic personal decisions that most directly affect who we as individuals are.

The conservatives could easily have left that right alone and carved Abortion out of it. Instead these guys took it away giving the government the power to once again regulate access to birth control, who we can marry and any other number of personal decisions.

They took power away from individuals and gave it to the government.

Please show us all where the right to kill the unborn is listed in the Constitution...

Did you celebrate the gun ruling which would be considered a victory for individual rights?

I did not oppose it, I do believe there should be limits to individual rights, but only when they conflict with more significant rights.

the sheer hypocrisy....the sheer idiocy of the current right wing never ceases to amaze me.

Reagan - "elect me to gov't so I can make gov't rules that empowers corporations and strip away your civil rights and social services"

Bush I & II - "elect us so we can pass laws for tax breaks for the rich only, and have you foot the bill for corporations that outsource jobs and then sell you their products at outrageous prices.

Trump - "elect me so I can enrich myself & family, reinstate all the nonsense mentioned above and just piss on the Constitution."

And the topper for all MAGA/alt-right/neocon/teabagger/fibbertarian/right wing wonks - Let's throw freedom of choice out the window with a religious twist after screaming bloody murder about potential "sharia law" taking over the country.

You can't make this stuff up.

Run from reality fuckers, run

Why do you think Damo is such a hater? I’ve asked him before to create an app that buzz’s us all when you post so we can all drop what we are doing and respond to you. I mean, there has been numerous threads and posts on this all day but somehow people don’t respond to you within nine minutes and it’s because everyone is scared.

Again, I blame Damo.

The Supreme Court Could have said that today, instead they simply said you have no right to privacy.

well obviously to those who have read the constitution, there IS no constitutional right to privacy..........that doesn't mean there aren't protections to our privacy that have been passed into law.....and if you can convince a majority of legislators to pass them there can be more.....shucks, in some states you'll get a majority of legislators to let you kill your unborn children......maybe even the born ones.......

I’m a strong supporter of individual rights and they took a huge hit today.

Out of curiously, as a string supporter of individual rights is there any issue you disagree with the Democratic Party on when it comes to individual rights?

I’ll offer an an analogy (and please don’t think I’m comparing Jarod to Krugman regarding smarts.)

Paul Krugman won a Nobel Prize for his work on international trade. In that regard the man is brilliant. But when you read his NYT column he transforms into a partisan hack and some of the economic stuff he spouts even he knows is wrong/doesn’t believe but yet he says it anyway because he’s not writing as an economist but rather a partisan.

Point being, partisanship can make otherwise smart people stupid (and that includes right and left)

You are, of course, correct.

Its still frustrating for me to think that what is a rather simple legal concept can get overlooked by a lawyer even if they are not strictlyt speaking constitutional lawyer.

It's a happy day.

Perverts, please set your selfishness aside when contemplating the murder of your unborn.

Yes, Roe has been shitcanned, but that won't stop some of you from getting your coat hangers out and going to work.

6 jurists that were MUCH MORE qualified than you disagree with your opinion. I'll go with what they say. Even RBG knew Roe V Wade was on shaky legal ground and should have been codified.

No one ever said "abortion" was. But abortion is very tied into other inherent rights we have.

Nice try at a dodge.

the supreme court disagrees. abortion, baby killing, is no where mentioned in the constitution. Why do leftists have to force their views on everyone? The issue is returned to the states. California can kill babies, alabama can ban the practice. If a majority of alabamians want abortion banned, who are you to tell them no? Don't you support democracy? It's time to bring back localism to our lives. We have thrown off your shackles. WE WILL dismantle the feds. We WILL drown the government in a bathtub.

a vacuous decision based up on conjured on implied rights was always a shaky foundation
Ginsberg even agreed, and said it short circuited political process

so unwinding it is messy, but an eventuality
