Practically everyone in the UP has those boots, and you're right -- they are not white. They're mostly army green. They're "mud boots" or "bog boots."

Mine are army green, I think because that color does not show dirt and scuffs so much. Mine are stuffed up. There is mud in the scuffs. The tread is worn.
