Oz vs. Fetterman (Lurch) debate

Nope. I'd never vote for Fetterman.

Are you getting your piss in a bubble?

You are one to talk about principals.

I'm not surprised you'd vote for a grifter like Oz. It seems to be one of the things repugs like most about their candidates.

Centre County doctors share 'deep concern' about Mehmet Oz as Pennsylvania Senator

"Dr. James Serene, who worked as an orthopedic surgeon and most recently worked for Penn State Sports Medicine, said he was bothered by an article that said Oz has stock in a company, Thermo Fisher Scientific, which supplies hydroxychloroquine. He also supported the use of hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of COVID, which is not recommended by the World Health Organization.

Dr. Mary Callahan, a retired family physician who practiced for 31 years in Centre County and a volunteer at Centre Volunteers in Medicine, said the lack of ethics is the most concerning thing to her and other doctors.

She said the promise that those in her profession makes is to help patients using what they know to be true, and by taking the Hippocratic oath, Oz promised to do good for the sick and hold himself from wrong and corruption. Instead of doing that, Callahan said he's made money on products that were later found to be part of pyramid schemes, made "bogus claims" on his television show, promoted conversion therapy, and promoted other things that had little to none evidence supporting it."

Btw, my principles aren't a weather vane like Dr. Slick's.

Grifting 101.

Dr. Oz owns shares of companies that supply hydroxychloroquine, a drug he has backed as a Covid treatment

  • Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Republican candidate for Pennsylvania’s open Senate seat, owns stock in Thermo Fisher Scientific, a supplier of the drug hydroxychloroquine, and McKesson, a distributor of the anti-malaria medicine.
  • Oz backed the use of the drug as a Covid-19 treatment early in the pandemic, and has downplayed warnings about its efficacy as a candidate.
  • He also pushed the White House to back a study on hydroxychloroquine that he aimed to fund in 2020, according to emails released by a House committee.
  • Oz’s nonprofit received donations from Sanofi, which previously made the drug.

Oz’s financial ties to a producer and distributor of the drug, and his promotion of it as a potential Covid treatment, raise questions about what he stood to gain from its wider use during the pandemic. If he wins the Senate election, he could also face conflicts of interest as Congress grapples with a still evolving coronavirus pandemic.

I've told you more than once I didn't vote for Oz in the primary, but I sure as hell won't vote for Fetterman in the mid-term election. Lesser of two evils...

Liar . . He helped transplant a heart into Frank Torres in 1996. Oz worked as a Cardio-thoracic surgeon for decades he help develop a LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) and went on to become a professor of surgery at Columbia University. Dr. Oz has a history of hard work which is something that Fetterman does not have.

There were calls from 10 other doctors at Columbia asking for his termination for his personal attacks on Science and proven standard medicines- he was teaching in his classes.

Before he was fired, he quit his job and career and went on the Oprah show as an entertainer and Home Remedy specialist!

And yet he remained as a Professor eremites at Columbia. There is a lot of professional jealousy in the medical profession. One doc gets a job or an award that the other wants etc.

Plus you don't like 6'8" people unless they have a 6 gun on their hip and wear a cowboy hat..

I've always wondered how somebody who claims advanced degrees and a noble profession could be taken in by phonies like Oz and trump. Advanced degrees, yet you still spout lies about Fetterman because he's not wearing your team's jersey. Good thing you didn't go into research, eh.

That's "emeritus" and it doesn't mean "with merit." Lol. And he has no clinical practice at Columbia. Back in 2015 a group of docs from the school called for him to be dismissed for quackery. Looks like the grifter fell for the siren song of money, Expressweenie.

"We are surprised and dismayed that Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons would permit Dr. Mehmet Oz to occupy a faculty appointment, let alone a senior administrative position in the Department of Surgery.

"As described here and here, as well as in other publications, Dr. Oz has repeatedly shown disdain for science and for evidence-based medicine, as well as baseless and relentless opposition to the genetic engineering of food crops. Worst of all, he has manifested an egregious lack of integrity by promoting quack treatments and cures in the interest of personal financial gain.
"Thus, Dr. Oz is guilty of either outrageous conflicts of interest or flawed judgements about what constitutes appropriate medical treatments, or both. Whatever the nature of his pathology, members of the public are being misled and endangered, which makes Dr. Oz's presence on the faculty of a prestigious medical institution unacceptable."

Like what?

BTW I stand corrected I said he apparently has Wernicki's aphasia. (So sue me its a long time since I took neuro-anatomy.) I did see a neurologist on TV however that said he has Broca aphasia. YOU said he didn't have aphasia at all however.

I repeated what his campaign and doctors said, that he has an auditory processing disorder, not Broca's or Wernicke's aphasia. I'll stick with people who know him and have treated him, not some unidentified doctor on TV.

You've spouted a lot of lies about him on this thread, the latest being that he doesn't have a hard work ethic.

Oz lies:

Fear-mongering about GMOs
Claim that apple juice contains arsenic
Deceptive advertising ... after he sang the praises of green coffee bean extract as a "miracle" weight loss pill
Pushing horse paste to fight coronavirus though its effects were unproven
Claimed that raspberry ketones are "
the No. 1 miracle in a bottle to burn your fat."
Astrological signs may reveal a great deal about a person's health
Umckaloabo root is effective at relieving cold symptoms and helps fight influenza
Using lavender soap is beneficial for leg cramps
Mixture of strawberries and baking soda can whiten teeth

Emeritus means he remained on Colombia's teaching staff and wasn't fired like the lizard said.;)

As I said professional jealousy is bad in medicine. Docs are many times jealous of other doctors financial success. They get pissed when other doctors take "their" consults. etc. Happens a lot. I Dallas we have an anesthesiologist that put Bupivacaine (a local anesthetic) in IV bags to cause random emergencies in patients at the surgery center he worked at. He wanted the other anesthesiologist to appear incompetent because surgeons had switch from using him to using the other anesthesiologists. Several patients had near miss emergencies then a female anesthesiologist took and IV bag home to re hydrate herself after having vomiting. The bag she took had bupivacaine in it and it killed her. An investigation into her death found out what was happening. They caught him on video. So yes professional jealousy is very bad sometimes. I have seen people excluded from staff to prevent them from competing with a doctor that blocked them from staff.

It's an honorary title and he can't teach or practice.

Your leap to professional jealousy is just a deflection. How about just for once considering that Oz touted some kookie beliefs and practices?
