Man accused of attacking Paul Pelosi held without bail

Violent criminals (defined by the crime they committed) often are not allowed bail. Those guys who assaulted police officers on January 6 are held without bail. The idiot who would suggest such a thing is the defendant's lawyer. Sometimes available space is a factor.

In Texas we have plenty of prison space but are short on guards.

I live in Texas. You live in Arizona. Why are you constantly seeking to disregard the 10th Amendment and impose authoritarian Federal rule?

What does federal law have to do with what is a state issue?

Exactly my point. You constantly whine about California and New York yet you live in Arizona. Do you constantly bitch and whine about your neighbors too?

No, because unlike California and New York they aren't mostly whiney Progressive Leftists who came to Arizona to escape the hell of their own state that they made. Worse, once they're here, they start trying to fuck up Arizona like they did to California and New York.

no....we're upset that all of the other violent criminals were released without requiring it.......

Appears “pp,” like so many other Fox regulars, don’t understand the no bail reforms, once again, nowhere is no cash bail, or even no bail, absolute, a Judge can decide if the individual is a flight risk or dangerous and deny any bail, not be policy

You're a busybody hypocrite who claims to support the Constitution...as long as others do exactly you demand. I see little difference between you and others like Earl and STY.

California, and many other deep blue areas have moved to "No cash bail" of late. That is, they are letting virtually every criminal out of jail on their own recognizance without bail, to even include repeat offenders.

Not true, shows another misunderstanding of the no bail policy

As I’ve said, nowhere is no cash bail, or even no bail, absolute, a Judge can decide if the individual is a flight risk or dangerous and deny any bail. The policy is intended to keep minor offenses, or nonviolent offenses, from having to go to jail because they couldn’t raise the funds to prevent jail.

You are aware that just because someone is arrested doesn’t mean they are guilty, in fact, a large percentage of any local jail population is made up of people who never even get charged

As the Texas prison population declined they closed a bunch of prisons. With the crime rate increasing during the pandemic I wonder if the prison population will increase again. A neighbor who worked at one of the Beaumont prisons said they closed units which were near others so they could transfer the guards to keep their jobs and staff the prison.

The election results come in only a week from now, then we might finally learn what this was all about.

Or Not.

and anchovies chooses to either not understand or simply ignore the fact that demmycrats are in fact soft on crime and put violent offenders on the streets......

Beaumont has a lot of prisons. IIRC, I passed three on the way from the airport to the hotel. Lots of guards in the hotel bar. LOL

The US has the highest prison rate among First Nations.

IMO, there's something wrong with the Land of the Free having the most prisoners per capita on the planet.
