Haley doubles down on cognitive tests as White House, older lawmakers bristle

If a district wants to participate in the two party scam and elect a 90 year old person with dementia, that is who they choose as their representation. nothing should occur to stop that. Same way with a president. If a nation of apathetic, hate filled individuals elects a retarded mass murderer as their president, just so they can jeer at the other side, we, as a nation, deserve to die the slowest and most painful death possible. Maybe it's better for freedom in the long run.

I was explaining the procedures the 25th Amendment provides for determining a president has some disability keeping him from doing his job and making the VP the acting president. It has always been a temporary decision in practice in which the president has said he would be temporarily disabled and then resumed his duties.

I was not explaining any procedures for determining if the president is incompetent. That would be a political decision under the terms of the 25th. If a president is truly mentally incompetent and everybody agrees, he would be impeached and not declared disabled under the 25th.

No, if enough members of Congress had serious doubts they would impeach him and that would probably put enough on him to resign (like Nixon resigned when it became clear he would be impeached).

impeachment is only to be used for high crimes and misdemeanors. the 25th Amendment is used for incapacitation.

Why is it that every time a trump lie is mentioned your only response is that someone else did something. Lets deal with just trump and the very fact that he never had an actual competency exam, just like he never had an honest physical.

Personally I think she is right. I don't see it happening but it should.


Diane Fienstien would have been gone years ago. I very seriously doubt Biden could
pass a MoCA test. Biden has A Fib and people with A fib are at increased risk of cognitive impairment and dementia. With A fib the incidence of dementia doubles every 5.9 years. If you watch Biden videos from his first term as VP till now the difference is disturbing.

We don't need a dementia patient with his finger on the nuclear button regardless of party.

We have elections.
Thus we don't need term limits for any office including POTUIS.
That's nothing less than arbitrarily limiting the choice of the electorate.

As for mental competency tests, first, that's age discrimination, but more importantly,
who gets to approve the test?

Impeachment is whatever a majority of the House votes for. The courts have never overturned an impeachment vote.

The 25th is for incapacitation, but it provides no test for determining whether somebody is mentally incompetent making it a political rather than a medical decision.

You keep missing the point (you must be a right-winger). The decision to remove a president is a political decision because there is no test to determine if he is mentally incompetent provided for in the law or Constitution. Whether you think he is incompetent is not an objective fact.

If Biden were tested you would have an objective fact. If Biden or any other President were diagnosed as mentally incompetent both parties would make the political decision to remove him from office.

Probably. I don't really know anything about competency testing, so I'm not sure how definitive it is. I do know there are court fights over mental competency with psychiatrists testifying on both sides.
 
Wilson stayed in office after a stroke. Many say his wife was in charge after it. FDR had many physical impairments including polio and stayed until he died. Eleanor was a big factor in the office. Reagan was suffering from Alzheimer's while in office. Nobody exposed him or tried to remove him. Nancy was a big force in his admin. Nixon was seen as cracking up during the Watergate aftermath. He was going to have a breakdown according to many insiders. Trump merely started an insurrection and showed serious emotional immaturity and lack of knowledge. Some in his admin discussed removing him. They should have.
By those comparisons, Biden is a genius. He is mature and does not play like Daffy Donald.
