It will probably be litigated at the US Supreme Court which is not in N.Y.C.
I believe that the decision will be overturned.

Yes it was a civil trial with a much lower burden of proof. It's not a guilty verdict, the jury decided it more than likely happened even though nobody knows when it happened.
The statute of limitations expired and NY recently passed a law allowing people to seek damages through a civil lawsuit for crimes where the statute of limitations has expired. Interesting timing isn't it?
