My daughters (two in Vermont, one in Illinois near STL) have been talking on family social media today about the air quality alerts we've been getting from NOAA, mostly due to a weird early summer stagnant air pattern across the U.S., plus smoke from wildfires in Canada. We've had our first ever air quality alerts here in the UP, since we moved up here. It's been on national news as well.

Are you guys doing okay? Anyone with respiratory issues who are being affected? We're all good here. Hoping that you all are all right as well.

Countdown to "GLOBAL WARMING!"

The problem was getting worse every year. Perhaps with the amount of rainfall in California over the winter and spring it won't be as bad this year.

A problem for those who blame everything on Global Warming, caused mostly by white men they claim.

Climate change is the other part of the problem. We're not just imagining harsher winters and summers - they're actually happening.

If that is true we need to be learning how to adapt to the new reality and preparing to do so...instead we are pretending that the people who cant even properly manage a pandemic are going to well manage the weather.

You're half right. We've had years of Reichwingers screaming that climate change is a hoax, and refusing to even address mitigation measures. Some RW states have even gone so far as to ban mention of climate change/global warming in state documents and laws.

Florida Isn't the Only State to 'Ban' Climate Change

How can an issue be addressed when it can't even be discussed?
