GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski: ‘I just don’t know how long I can stay in this party.'

People are of course free to vote for whomever they would like but the Chronicle article was about the state and state elections. And even though it’s at the state level it still speaks to frustrations voters have, be it national or state/local - and that’s how a group like No Labels could draw attention.

I understand your point. I'm just honestly puzzled as to why you don't see the flashing red lights. We were literally hours away from a President declaring martial law, seizing voting machines, and undoing a free and fair election, and that guy is the presumptive nominee of the Republican party. I just can't understand how anyone can not see that is the single most important issue facing this country. If that goes, not one other thing matters. No labels? Dead. Democracy? Dead. You are going to see journalists thrown in jail, people locked up for their political beliefs. 'I am your retribution'. Now is not the time to mess with the system. Get rid of the cancer and we can go back to having these debates, but this is the wrong time for them. I can leave. Not everyone has that luxury. And if you don't think the Trumpers will come after someone like me, you haven't been paying attention. This is as serious as it has ever been, and we're arguing over which recipe is best for chocolate cake. Let's hold off on that until this threat is over. Honest question, do you think I'm overstating the threat?

OK! Yes, That is the only one I know of, and yes that made huge headlines. And we all responded in a thread about this just last week.

Now, let's see if you can google up another one?

Why?

I already provided you with the evidence you denied.

Are we going to do this all day?

How about you go Google democrats that have flipped and do your own research because there are a lot more.

No, but I'm interested.

He wants to become an authoritarian, and take power away from independent federal agencies. It's a nightmare scenario. And if he has Congress, which seems likely if he somehow wins, then there is nothing to stop him. Certainly not the Constitution. He can do anything he wants. And he wants to be 'President for life'. He's already said so. It can happen. It has to be stopped.

OK! How about we just stop arguing about which party is losing the most voters to the other party?

I'll just take my chances that most people do not want to jump out of a perfectly good vessel that is keeping us all afloat- and into a bloody swamp full of nasty creatures.

you were proven to be pretty ignorant once again on the issue in this thread. how about acknowledging that.

Not that it matters but the subject and what was posted don’t match. Subject says Murkowski said she doesn’t know how long she can stay in the party. What was posted says she said people came up to her and said they may not stay in the party much longer.

(Would be kind of a big deal if a sitting Senator changed party’s, especially in a closely divided Senate.)

I think to put a finer point on it, Murkowski could declare herself an independent but continue to caucus with the Republicans. Manchin and Sinema have both essentially done exactly that. You are right, it would be a huge deal. I think there are Republicans who legitimately hope that the party fixes itself. I do too. I long for the debates I used to have with common sense conservatives about the best way to provide health care, or the best taxation policy.

Now we have to talk about whether transgenders are turning our kids into gay sexual predators. The absurdity of the debate is alarming.

you are a poser

Biden is literally challenging a federal judge rule that he can't prevent people from disagreeing about things on social media.

Not once do I see your ilk fight for things that truly matter.

That vessel you are in has many, many leaks.

It is sinking actually.

You are correct, Concart. It's scary to think we were that close.
When Trump wanted to put Jeffrey Clark in as Attorney General and said to him "Just say the election was rigged and me and the Republicans will take care of the rest", that was freaking scary. Trump spent his last 2 1/2 months in office breaking the law and trying to overturn the results of the election. That was more important to him than saving America from COVID.

Next time guardrails are gone. Jeffrey Clark or someone similar becomes AG. He appoints some idiot for sec def and God knows what happens in Europe. He neuters all the federal agencies and puts the mainstream media out of business. It’s so damn frightening that we have discussed where we go. Not kidding. We are done if that happens. That’s why this no labels crap is so frightening. Trump can’t get past 40% but if the rest of the vote is split Trump could win. It would be selfish for anyone to do that. Cornell West needs to shut the fuck up. And Manchin and Huntsman just better not go there.

Really? NAME ONE!

That's OK, we'll understand if you can't back up your crazy claims!
Two big ones recently. Most recently in Ga, but I believe that was a state level seat.

Another in N. Carolina state legislature ran on a pro choice position as a Dem, and now changed to Rep. and is anti abortion.

But for the most part, on the Fed. level it's Republicans who switch in order to get elected. Historically, they haven't been very Democrat, though.

Murkowski won't switch. She's a solid Republican who teases (like loony Collins in Maine) concern over Republican bills, but always votes with the party.

The Democrats have totally demonized Mesha for being Black.

And Sen. Krysten Sinema abandoned the racist Democrat pigs last year and switched to Independent.
Sinema ran as a far Left loon, but is really a whore for Big Pharma and Big Finance.

She did vote for some Dem. issues, but won't vote to bring down the price of meds.

She won't be around for very long.

She lied about what she backed

Her flip was not what the people of Arizona voted for huh asshole

She screwed her voters
