BULLSHIT. The Capitol police were guiding people through the capitol. It wasn't until the police started using tear gas and violence that the mob grew out of control.

As a far lefty i have always said no transgender female should be allowed to compete in Competitive Sports and that is what Recreational Sport is for.

It was a huge mistake for all of the various Sports Federations to not have properly recognized that the entire reason a 'Woman's Division' was created in sport, in the first instance was NOT for reasons of 'identity' and was for reasons of 'physical difference due to birth sex' and the advantage inherent within that due to male physiology. A simple statement of 'with the recognition of the trans identity we must clarify that our divisions are divided via birth sex' and not 'identity'.

So while i fully respect a person to live their life identifying how they wish, that should not mean they get automatic access to things like competitive sport which were designed for a reason, they no longer meet.
 
There was a person with two amputee legs who had those blade spring legs who sued saying he should be able to compete against normally abled people and there were some on the far left who argued he should not be discriminated against and should be allowed to, as they argued his legs only made him competitive with the top tier of normal humans and not beyond. And it was his training etc that would give him an edge or see him fail.

That was very dumb as it was lab engineers who purposely designed the artificial legs to approximate human speed but if they want him to go faster or slower they could set it that way.

So some guys in a lab are asking themselves 'do we want him to be in the Top 5 range' or Top 20 range or bottom 10% range' and then adjusting the legs to allow him, with his conditioning to compete in that range.

People should be able to live their own lives but when their life adversely affects others or gives an unfair advantage, then that's a problem.

Having a Y chromosome is not the problem. The problem is for athletes who have effectively been on steroids since puberty and then compete at age 18 or even mid-teens against women...who'd be banned from the sport if they used steroids.

Athletes who use steroids are either banned or suspended. I see no difference here. Even if the transwoman has had a surgical transition at age 18 or older, the effects of testosterone are still there thus giving an unfair advantage greater than simple genetics.
