NY Post Calls on Trump to ‘De-Escalate’ in Minneapolis — and Pull Kristi Noem Off of TV — in Stunning Editorial

The right-leaning New York Post called out the “alacritous and misleading rhetoric” coming from President Donald Trump’s administration in the wake of Saturday’s shooting death of Alex Pretti.

In a stunning column from an outfit which has historically been quite friendly to Trump, the Post’s editorial board urged Trump to scale back operations in Minneapolis.

“It’s time to de-escalate in Minneapolis, Mr. President,” the editorial board wrote at the outset of their column. They added, at the end, “Mr. President, the American people didn’t vote for these scenes and you can’t continue to order them to not believe their lying eyes.”

The Post’s editorial board went on to call out the comments of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem — who suggested Pretti committed an act of “domestic terrorism.” They also called for Noem to be pulled off the airwaves.

Wow, NY Post is a right-wing Rupert Murdoch tabloid.

Hate to compliment The NY Post, but this was a helpful (perhaps even courageous) move...and I applaud it. I am sure they will editorialize in favor of some dingbat move Trump makes soon...and I will hate that, but for the moment, the editorial was on the button.

My good MAGA conservative friend reads the Post for the sports reporting (excellent sports reporting) and saves them for me as fire starters for my wood burning stove. They also are excellent for starting wood burning stove fires.

Seems like a big deal, but as we have seen, when it comes to action, practicing what they say, they all back off, RACO, including Murdoch

And it shows some of Trump’s biggest allies and enablers are starting to understand the idiocy of ICE and their Gestapo tactics
And? Will that stop anything? Btw ICE is doing a great job. "Gestapo tactics"? Because you morons say so. Lol

I read Trump is thinking about cutting back on ICE numbers in Minn. They already did. The ones that Killed Pretti were moved to another state. Now we know why they wear masks.

Probably not, as I noted above, Murdoch shares the same quality as the GOP, RACO

If you think busting down doors without warrants, shooting protesters, detaining five year old kids, arresting US citizens, pulling disabled women from autos, etc., is normal police work, you belong in your Messiah’s bro Vladimir’s country

And to think it wasn’t that long ago with Waco and Ruby Ridge that conservatives were all up in arms over what they called excessive police enforcement

inB4 Magats on this forum give their undying support and criticize or dismiss the NYP

DonOld just needs to get rid of her!

It shows that only on just-plain-politics.com do all Republicans kiss the ground Trump walks on, and defend 100 percent of everything he does.

Elsewhere, there are right-wingers who are at least considering the consequences of a president wielding unchecked authoritarian privilege.

You are a scumbag. Just wanted you to know, because I suspect you do not realize it.
