I'm still trying to figure out how we went from "I'm going to end Iran's civilization if they don't open the Strait" to "I'm gonna show them! I'm gonna blockade the Strait!" I learned from my dementia patients that there's no point in trying to understand their thought processes or argue with them about reality. The best you can do is go with whatever reality they are currently in. Apparently Trump's now playing a real life game of Battleship. May the gods help us all.

Agreed on no point in trying to understand irrational people. They are mentally ill and need professional treatment.

The Navy refused to stop all ships, only the ones going to and from Iranian ports. Presumably because of international law which Trump famously said he doesn't follow.

Despite firing 20 top officers, the US military understands and respects international law, the Geneva Convention and the rules of war. Trump famously claimed he doesn't abide by international law and has repeatedly advocated committing war crimes. Crimes that several JPP MAGAts supported him committing.

If Trump and his evil followers want to commit war crimes they should do it themselves.

IMO, if the violence starts it would start at the lowest levels first since they lack the security protection of the rich and powerful but still sends an "or else" message to TPTB. LOL

Last option, yes, but I strongly doubt it will come to that. Congress still controls the purse strings and can hobble any actions by a dictator financially. Citizens uprising in the streets would be the most likely outcome.
