Iran is pushing back against U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims that a peace deal is "largely negotiated," specifically contradicting Washington on the status of the Strait of Hormuz and their nuclear program.​


A senior Iranian official has explicitly denied that Tehran agreed to hand over or relocate its highly enriched uranium stockpiles as part of the pending diplomatic memorandum of understanding with the US.​

 
If Iran has no intentions of building a bomb, has no civil or commercial use for uranium enriched to 60 to 90%, has spent billions on infrastructure to do this, and has no market to sell it to, why are they so adamantly against giving this material up? Why did they bother to make it in the first place?
