President Donald Trump‘s approval rating has hit its lowest level ever recorded in either of his White House terms, according to a new poll.

A new survey from American Research Group, conducted in mid-May 2026, found 31 percent of Americans approve of the way Trump is handling his job, while 64 percent disapprove—his weakest showing across both terms in office.

Because to a fair number of people, politics is tribal. It's like family. It's a team sport. It's a ride or die thing.

Take this board as a proxy. It's not about political discussion, it's about having our world view affirmed by our team. Same reason people watch Fox News and MSNBC.

In that world people aren't going to say their side is doing poorly, just as they will not admit when the other side is doing well.

Looks like 31% of the people in the USA are Trump followers / MAGA.
And they aren't too smart are they?

I'm not 100% convinced that many of them don't see what a fraud trump is, but continue to mouth support for him for some other reason.

Maybe too gutless to admit he conned them.

Maybe because they are just juvenile minded trolls getting their jollies pissing people off.

It's difficult to believe anyone could be stupid enough to actually believe anything trump says.

They came for the trolling and they stay for the racism.

No matter how much a couple of them might claim they had to hold their nose to vote for Trump, you don't come to a message board every day to support and defend someone you supposedly find repulsive. I would never invest that much time defending someone I thought was repulsive.
