I'll give you one example of our military's brilliance when a real problem is presented. In the beginning of the operation, we faced a difficult equation. We could easily protect any plot of land or sea we wanted, but shooting very expensive missiles at four-thousand-dollar drones was not sustainable long term. Since these little drones became the new favorite tool of terrorists we needed a better solution.
Now we have a simple piece of equipment that fits in a single shipping container and can be retrofitted very easily. It can take down hundreds of drones automatically or with a joystick for just one dollar per shot. The cost of the electricity to down the drone, no explosion, no smoke, no trace, and no lead time required. Just a zap and the drone drops instantly. Oh and it cannot be electronically jammed or shot down either.
My point is we have more than enough capability, intelligence, and good old American ingenuity to achieve whatever is necessary. We have several option to achieve anything you could think of. The argument that it is too difficult or impossible is pure libtard fantasy.

- Trump released 172 million → 441 - 172 = 269 million barrels. We could discuss the reasons for both Presidents actions if you'd like.

With so many ships locked up in the Gulf for so many months, if they had a chance to leave, they would. We all know that if anyone tries to leave the Gulf without Iranian permission, they are warned off with artillery shells.
You said we could bomb all of Iran, like we bombed cities in WWII. Creating that much explosives in WWII cost a lot of money, so it would require a huge shift in our industrial policy to even do WWII level bombings.
More importantly, Iran is not 600 square miles. That would at least be doable. It is 600,000 square miles.

We should run the math. Carpet bombing a square mile requires 400 tons of explosives. To carpet bomb 600,000 square miles would require 240 million tons of explosives. The USA dropped about 2 million tons of explosives in all WWII, so we are talking about 120 times the effort of WWII.
