Once China made the threat she has no choice but to go. Not going would send the wrong message to Bejing that the US can be bullied.
 
If it were a Rep Speaker who flew to Taiwan against China's opposition, bringing the two countries to the brink of war, these same Dem supporters would put on a completely different face — attacking the Republicans for being reckless and trying to drag the US into a war. You can count on it!

Taiwan is going to be the first battlefield in the war vs China.

In order to win it we must do stuff to shape that battlefield.

Sending Pelosi to Taiwan is useless performative bullshit.

Coopting venezuelan and iranian oil by placing friendly governments in them to disrupt chinas supply when that war happens is useful.
