One of our resident KKKers here even declared that the jury was forced to find Chauvin guilty to prevent more riots. This bigot also declared that the guy who killed the homeless mentally-ill Black guy on the NYC subway was a "hero" and should receive a medal. We've always had racists and haters, and we always will. Trump made it okay to proudly display it in public.
Diversity only divides those who allow it. Fear, ignorance, distrust, even hate are learned. They can be unlearned. It's natural for humans to prefer to live around others like themselves whether that's religion, race, economic status, language. In an open society though people have the freedom to move where they want (and can afford) without barriers.
Our diversity and our acceptance of it is part of what makes America a truly beautiful place.

Trump uses the current situation in S. Africa as a dog whistle for his racist base. All they see is that the White minority there is in danger from the majority, but don't question WHY that is because they are ignorant of the country's history and the suffering under apartheid.
