Well Toby when it comes to identifying dumbasses I truly believe you are an expert as it certainly takes one to know one.
The issue I embarrassed Jordan to the point of taking a swing at me was during a State Republican Party Convention in Downtown Columbus, OH. Originally I joined the Republican Party as a dues paying member when in College I joined the Young Republicans in the early 80’s. I later joined The Mercer County Republican Party which is a rural in west central, Oh. That was when I was first Introduced to Jordan who is a couple of years younger than I am. At that time Jordan was just starting his political career running successfully as a State Legislator in the district surrounding St. Mary’s, OH which was about 15 miles from where I lived, at the time, in Celina. St Mary’s being in Auglaize county both of which are prosperous farming communities with a scattering of manufacturing plants.
In 89 I moved to Columbus and a year later joined the Franklin County Republican Party in 90.
In 1995 I was attending the State Republican convention in Cbus at the downtown. At the time the company I was working for assigned me to a joint research project with The Ohio State University. As part of that I was working on my 2nd Masters in Materials Science (my first Masters and undergraduate work was in Biology).
So that was the background where Jordan and I had a disagreement and he went ballistic on me in his typical meathead aggressive style.
The issue that was being discussed was science education and Jordan had went on a rant about teaching evolutionary biology in High Schools in which he wanted to replace with teaching creationism. At first I was diplomatic and asked him “Jim, considering the importance of science and technology do you think it’s a good idea for the Republican to be seen as the anti-science party?”
The dude went ballistic at me and got into my personal space and was literally yelling questions at me about evolutionary theory that came out of the Creationist Handbook. Well since he was trying to do the old debate trick of grand standing where they try to overwhelm you with questions.
Well he picked the wrong person to try that with as I’ve forgotten more on that subject than he will ever know considering he had no formal education in science let alone biology.
Long story short I kept my patience and my temper and didn’t let his super aggressive actions bother me and I systematically debunked everything comment he made trying to discredit evolutionary theory. He did this half a dozen times and each time I went into a level of detail he couldn’t follow. About the third time I did this to him the group around us starting laughing at him. Also each time I swatted down one of his ignorant comments on the subject he got louder and more agitated and aggressive.
By the sixth time he saw that he had lost the crowd and he stepped into me and was so mad his face was almost purple and in quiet and menacing voice said to me “You are a real asshole.”. I cracked up laughing and said “Dude that’s the first thing you got right.”. Everyone cracked up laughing and I walked away so he couldn’t escalate things further.
I went back to my table and sat down next to a very well respected Ohio State level politician (Mike Wise) and said to him “Boy he’s the most willfully ignorant son of bitch I’ve ever met. Mike cracked up laughing, clapped me on the back and said “Yup, that’s our Jimmy boy but the farmers love him.”. Then he told me that Jim had a reputation for being a bully and that he was impressed by how I handled the situation.
The real issue I have with Jordan besides his extremism is his idiotic obstructionist mind set. You just can’t get there from here working with Jordan because he is fanatically obsessed not with what you can do but with what you cannot do.
For every good idea a fellow Republican has Jordan has 10 reasons why you can’t do it. He is just utterly bent on stopping progress of any sort and that is why he is loathed by a majority of professional Republican politicians in Ohio and Congress. He is arguably the single biggest do nothing congress critter in the History of the U.S. House. In his entire career in the House he does not have his name to a single bill as writer or co-writer. Not one. On top of the he’s lazy or just doesn’t care about bringing directing his districts tax dollars back to his district and he’s consistently been one of the lowest rated congressmen in regards to constituents services his entire career and I don’t mean his low but bottom of the barrel low.
You don’t have take my word for it either. Just ask any Republican outside the Freedom caucus just how exasperating it is to work with him because most politicians, regardless of party affiliation, are highly motivated to get stuff done. Not Jim. It’s always obstruct, obstruct, obstruct to a fanatical and morally mindless degree.
He should talk to Trump and tell.him to power down on the nightly hate-posting fest.

Trump has told more lies than any other president by far, He tallied over 30,000 in his first term. He is doing worse this time, The right is fueled by Fox, which paid 3/4s of a billion dollars for their lies. It is their business model . They have other suits to answer for because they knowingly tell lies every day.
Tell a lie often enough, and some people will believe it is true. This board is full of suckers like that, including you. Remember those drug boats we were sinking off South America? A report released last month by Pogo Investigates, a nonprofit newsroom, highlighted the close ties between Jordan and a company profiting from the Trump administration's anti-immigration crackdown, which has sometimes been violent and even deadly.
The report found that the American Liberty Foundation, a political action committee (Pac) tied to Jordan, last year received $250,000 in "dark money" payments from Geo Group, the Florida-headquartered company that runs dozens of detention centers on behalf of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) across the country.
