They didn't make the choice to steal. They don't have the stolen pie (it was destroyed). But you were wronged so you want to get paid.

Wouldn't that be nice. Police should actually work that way, i.e. they are personally responsible for damages they cause and crimes they fail to prevent. That's another story though. It wouldn't work if "everyone" was responsible, and "everyone" did not sign up to insure your pie.

I would really like to see you provide valid, historically documented proof of your claim that, "in most cases the property of the slave owner was given to the former slaves", and the subsequent supposition and conjecture you vomit forth.
