Psychological hatred and prejudice against the LGBTQ+ community is rarely a simple, single-issue phenomenon. Experts generally attribute these attitudes to a combination of rigid personality constructs, unconscious defense mechanisms, and deeply ingrained social conditioning. The primary psychological theories behind these hostile attitudes include:
1. Authoritarianism and Intolerance
Psychologists have long linked anti-LGBTQ+ bias to rigid personality traits, such as an "authoritarian personality" or an "intolerant personality disorder".Rigid Cognitive Categorization: These individuals often rely on strict binaries (e.g., rigid gender roles) to make sense of the world. LGBTQ+ identities, which blur or fall outside these lines, can cause cognitive dissonance, leading to discomfort and hostility.Need for Superiority: Hatred often stems from a psychological need to boost one's own self-esteem by feeling morally or socially superior to an "out-group".
2. Unconscious Repression and Reaction Formation
Rooted in psychodynamic theory, some prejudice acts as a defense mechanism against an individual’s own unconscious, denied, or suppressed attractions.Reaction Formation: In this scenario, an individual espouses intense hatred or irrational fear of homosexuality as a way to vigorously deny their own same-sex impulses.Empirical Evidence: In a famous psychological study published in The Journal of Abnormal Psychology, researchers found that men who scored highest on homophobia measures actually showed significant physiological arousal when viewing male homosexual erotica, compared to men who were not homophobic.
3. Fear of the Unknown and Threat Perception
Human beings are inherently wary of things that fall outside their lived experience.In-group Favoritism: Hatred is often rooted in xenophobia—the fear of anything perceived as different. When people do not personally know or interact with LGBTQ+ individuals, they are more susceptible to believing negative stereotypes.Threat to the Status Quo: Some individuals view the mere existence of queer individuals or diverse family structures as a personal threat to their own traditional worldviews, religious convictions, or cultural norms.
4. Learned Behavior and Social Conditioning
Psychologists emphasize that hatred is not an innate trait; it is heavily taught.Cultural Indoctrination: People frequently absorb prejudices from their families, religious institutions, and broader cultural environments.Peer Dynamics: For young people, asserting hatred for minority groups can be a way to reinforce one's standing within a dominant social group, demonstrate masculinity to peers, or alleviate boredom through thrill-seeking behaviors like bullying

I always thought gays and others had plenty of problems and did not need me to make things more difficult for them. I mind my own business until the rightys cross the lines in their judgmental ways. Hate of gays and blacks is taught in the home. So is most violence.
Ignorance and fear are the real reason for hate. And like you said it is taught at home by those just as ignorant. Minorities like gays and trans are easy targets for fear mongers. Like you, I figure their lives are hard enough with our other humans trying to hurt them. One thing this regime has shown is there are some really hateful nasty people in America but their chosen leader embodies these traits.

Trivial objections fallacy.
Simple fact. That is new to you. What school is letting gatpys do sex shows? NONE of them. Nor are gays recruiting in kids' schools. They seek normal adult relations with other normal adult gays. If you seek people who are taking advantage of kids for sex, have Trump release the Epstein Files. You will see them there and you will want them covered up.

Drag queens are simply a euphemism for sex clown. They look and dress like clowns and their whole purpose is sexualized.

If a gay goes to a school, any school, and they make an issue out of their sexual preference(s), they are indeed sexualizing whatever they are doing there. It'd be no different if a straight person went to a school and started talking about their sexual preferences and sex life.

LGBTQ is a political wedge issue politicians forced on schools to replace parent responsibilities with classroom social conditioning. This is our government intentional divide and conquer scheme. Parents were forced into home schooling to prevent their kids from thinking they were born in the wrong body.

This is why traditional charter and private schools are thriving. Parents don't want their kids to get indoctrinated. They want them educated.

We were also social conditioned to fear Russia, Cuba, and Iran so we became dependent on government to protect us from monsters. They take your taxes straight out of your defense contractor paycheck.
