What is "Democratic Socialism?"

So yes you're a psychic? Go open your own business, Dionne Warwick.

He has repeatedly made enemies out of Democrats, the media and immigrants, especially Mexicans.

True, and the Left smears him, as they do everyone that disagrees with them in the slightest, as a Fascist, Nazi, hater, racist, or whatever.

Then why do you worry?
Because this is the result of that:

The first two were in Venezuela. The last one was due to the winter storm.

Good effort in trying to mislead.

The private grocery stores will thrive.
They were illustrative. Government run, virtually anything, doesn't do well in the open market. The point is that there is no need for government run grocery stores outside very specific niches which is NOT what Mamdani is trying to do.

If you believe and want the tenants of Democratic Socialism as outlined by that party themselves, then, yes, you are a Communist. I don't see Trump calling for government run monopolies like Sanders and the Left do.

Mamdani is a perfect example of this. He wants to use government to control housing, business, and well, virtually everything else in NYC. He is opening his first government run grocery store across the street from a successful privately run grocery store, and about two blocks from another. The location is NOT a "food desert." Instead, it is clearly an attempt to monopolize the grocery business by government.

Be it energy, healthcare, or grocery stores, when those in power see it as their mandate to eliminate any competition in the name of Social Justice, or some similar nonsense, what they are calling for is Communism.
Trump has went further on that then Bernie ever has in the past. Bernie is now upping his game to ask for more, in that regard because of Trump.

Find any example PRIOR to Trump grabbing golden shares, picking corporate winners and losers to invest in, where Bernie called for same or more than Trump and quote it here if you can.

what Mandami is trying to do will be so minor as to be not even comparable in scale and scope and threat to the markets.

For instance, Intel has received billions in contracts from the gov't since that Trump deal... is that because they are the best and most suited or because the gov't wants to help build their investment up to claim success and not see Intel fail?

That is what happens when the gov't picks winners and losers, as those contracts could have otherwise went to perhaps a better company and the US benefitted much more. The moral hazard of Trumps socialism is that it can hold down the entire sectors they do it, if gov't contracts are a big part in those as gov't favors their chosen 'winners'.

True, and the Left smears him, as they do everyone that disagrees with them in the slightest, as a Fascist, Nazi, hater, racist, or whatever.
Projection.

Such a useful instrument for the right.

Because pretending the left is using their favorite tactics is almost the only thing they can come up with.

A lot of supposedly Democrats these days call themselves Democratic Socialists, and are really members of the Democratic Socialists of America.

So, what is it?

Looking into this, what it boils down to is that these are actually Communists who have repackaged the brand.

Capitalism is a system designed by the owning class to exploit the rest of us for their own profit. We must replace it with democratic socialism, a system where ordinary people have a real voice in our workplaces, neighborhoods, and society.

Rephrased, that is classic Marx in that it says "the owning class"--aka Oligarchs and such--"exploit the rest of us..."--that is the "proletariat." The words have changed, but the meaning remains the same: Classic Communist class warfare didactic.

They then state they must replace this with what amounts to worker's collectives, again rephrased to make it sound better.

So, unlike this article claims:

Most notably, President Trump has frequently and falsely criticized Mamdani as a communist in the lead-up to the election. Mamdani refuted that characterization in a June appearance on NBC's Meet the Press, to which he responded, "I am not."
Yes, Mamdani is a Communist. He wants wealth redistribution at the hands of an autocracy.

Then there's this:

"We want to collectively own the key economic drivers that dominate our lives, such as energy production and transportation," reads the DSA's website.

That is straight up Marxist Communism in every bit of its classic form. Collectivization is pure Communism.

So, when somebody says they are a Democratic Socialist, call them what they really are: A Communist.
It's Democrats trying to rebrand Communism.

And, yet another thread on a subject that makes the Left look evil and not a single response from any Leftists here defending themselves.

Must be hard to be a Communist...

Must be a lot harder to be a fucking MAGA moron.
^So Frankie jumps up and admits he's a Communist.
Dadgummit, I had some book about Communism bookmarked and my system crashed without me gettin' to read it, and now I have no idea what it was. :(

Anyone who thinks that my comments quoted show me jumping up and admitting I am a communist ought to stay away from books. They may pose a danger to someone like that.

Except MAGA isn't Fascist. Dumb assed? Yea, but Fascist? No. Fascists are another arm of the Democrat party separate but equal to the Democratic Socialists (aka Communists).
Yeah, TA...the Republican Party right now IS AS CLOSE TO BEING FASCIST AS IS POSSIBLE WITHOUT ACTUALLY USING THE DESIGNATION "FASCIST."

You simply cannot see it...or will not see it. (I suspect the latter.)
