Schedule of Events​
Smithsonian Folklife Festival – National Mall, between 3rd Street and 4th Street NW, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

National Independence Day Parade – Constitution Avenue NW from 7th Street to 17th Street NW, 11:45 a.m. - 2 p.m., Marching bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military units, giant balloons, equestrian, drill teams and more.

United States Army Band Downrange – Sylvan Theater, Washington Monument Grounds, 6 p.m. – 9:09 p.m. - Downrange, the United States Army Band’s popular music ensemble, performs a wide variety of up-to-date rock, pop, country, R & B, and inspirational signature patriotic arrangements.

A Capitol Fourth Concert, 8 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Co-sponsored by the National Park Service and the National Symphony Orchestra, join pop superstars Smokey Robinson and Kenny Loggins, soprano Jackie Evancho, and many more as they honor our country’s 240th birthday

Fireworks Display, 9:09 p.m. – 9:27 p.m.

2016 was 10 years ago, and the 240th anniversary of the USA, so Cypress is 100% correct. It also was back when the celebrations were dignified, understated, and completely non-partisan.
