Black woman shoots kills old White man over parking space

There is no proof he was going to attack her. None. He was 5 feet away.
He was screaming threats at her, and then running at her. A reasonable person would think that was an attack.

He was 5 feet away.
A moment before, he was 12 feet away. A moment later he would have been hitting her. That was her absolute last opportunity to defend herself.

She, by pulling a gun, was far more threatening than just standing there shouting.
And he continued to attack her even knowing a gun was pointed at him. Had she waited even a moment more, he would have had the gun. A man who runs at a woman with a gun is an extreme danger.

Not shooting is a common mistake gun owners make. Once the distance is closed, the gun is up for grabs, and is almost as likely to be used against the gun owner as the attacker. NEVER LET THEM CLOSE THAT DISTANCE!!!

Absolute bullshit.

Even more bullshit. Few, if any can move that fast.

Continued to attack? He never came within 5 feet of her. how could he have touched her?

You know nothing about gun owners, Walt. Not a damn thing.
You know nothing about guns, either. You are far over your head here!

there are two issues for her. First is will she be charged criminally. Second is a most definite civil suit.

You do not have a duty to retreat and someone doesn’t have to be armed or physically attacking you to be threatening.

One thing working against her was getting out of the car with the gun. It can and will be portrayed as an escalation

Clearly a tragedy on numerous fronts. They both should have walked away

He started out about 12 feet away, was 5 feet away wen shot, and was closing the distance when shot. He saw she had a gun, and was attempting to get close enough to take that gun away from her.

That is one of the problems with carrying a gun, you cannot allow people to close the distance. In a lot of cases, the person closing the distance does not even know that he is escalating. In this case, the white man fully knew that she had a gun, and that he was placing her in extreme danger by closing the distance.

One thing working against her was getting out of the car with the gun.
People in Florida get out of cars with guns. If we convict everyone who shoots someone after getting out of a car with a gun, there will be a lot more white men in prison.

They both should have walked away
She had her parking space, and was attempting to walk away. He was angry she had a parking space, and was attacking.

Maybe she could have run away, but in Florida that is not a requirement. Besides, if he had a gun(very likely with his behavior and in Florida), he would have just shot her in the back while she ran.

He should have just walked away, and allowed her to walk away.

So you support the cop that killed Renee Good

A moment before she was sitting still in the car a moment later she put it in gear another moment later she gassed it... That was the last opportunity the cop had to defend himself

This will be a good case for the state to try. The man threatened her repeatedly, advanced at her repeatedly, while she held a gun for ten minutes and was on the phone with 911.

How far was she to retreat? Georgia?
he was walking slowly and not aggressively.

this is murder.

she should get the chair.

you people are demonic hooligans.

The Legal Threshold: Deadly vs. Non-Deadly ForceProportionality Rule: Florida law requires that force be proportional to the threat. If someone is unarmed and simply yelling or pushing, using or threatening to use a firearm is generally disproportionate and illegal.

If you leave the safety of your vehicle to confront someone with a gun, you will almost certainly lose your "Stand Your Ground" legal protections.....You become the aggressor: Leaving your vehicle is legally viewed as escalating the conflict or pursuing a fight......The threat was avoidable: If you had the ability to stay inside, lock the doors, or simply drive away, a jury will likely rule that the use of lethal force was not a "last resort" or an unavoidable emergency.
There are too many "iffys" here. The jury, taking all into consideration, may well rule for the woman against the aggressor white male.

he was walking slowly and not aggressively.
He was furious because he wanted the parking space. Had he not been aggressive, she would have gone into the shop and never even known he existed.

Pointing a gun at someone is a universal sign that you do not want to interact with them. There is no misunderstanding that she did not want close contact with him. He thought he could get up to her before she pulled the trigger. He covered 7 feet in about a second(not a slow walk), and was going to cover the remaining in half a second. Had she not fired, he would have had the gun.

And remember, at every point of this he could have just walked away... Or even just stopped attacking. He was too angry to stop attacking.

cold blooded murder.

but you defended karmelo Anthony too, right?

he was walking slowly and was not even close to her.
That is not what the video shows. She shot at him from 5 feet away, that is close when it comes to a gun. In half a second, he would have had that gun, and we would be debating whether he had a right to shoot her.

watch it yourselves, casual lurkers.

Walt is a hellbound compulsive lie pustule.

the definition of whether you deem something a threat is pretty broad. They don't have to be charging you. They don't even have to have weapon in their hands. Trayvon Martin didn't have a weapon and he was on top of Zimmerman pretty quickly slamming his head into the concrete.

She may have a justifiable case, the one thing working against her is getting out of the car. I am not saying she escalated, but she did get out with the gun. One of the things you are taught is to keep something between you and the other person. For example, she could have kept the car between them.

Clearly they are both at fault for being childish and arguing over a stupid parking spot and now both lives are changed forever.

One last thing. While the laws may differ and in some instances lean toward a shooter, she still has to worry about civil liability and that isn't likely to go in her favor.

While you don't have a duty to retreat, anyone who trains on these types of incidence will tell you that if you can you should de-escalate. I don't see that she did that

Again, this was over a parking spot

So basically how every liberal and democrat respond to everything. I completely agree they should be shot for doing that.
