My observations...

The celebration in Washington D.C. was a dud. The fireworks, this morning, on the mall were good, but ridiculously expensive and observed by a small crowd.

Trump, tried to do stuff any advisor worth his salt would have told him would fail, and it failed.

If you make it about Trump and not America, it will fail. Nobody in their right mind wanted to be associated with a partisan 4th. No headliners, no big attraction. Maybe fireworks, but there was always a good chance they would be rained out.

Trump had the bones of a good speech he made after 11 PM last night, but he kept slipping into angry rhetoric calling the opposition, more than half of Americans Communists.

In the end, NYC had to take over and save the night with a great and traditional show that won the day. What a metaphor for the Trump administrations.

Try to take heart, Patriot. Trump and his failed display of ego does not represent America. WE do. All across the country, no matter how hot or stormy it was, we got together and celebrated our country. We showed the thousands of visitors here for the World Cup how great we really are. That orange shitgibbon is not America. You are. I am. WE are.
 
I like the idea of APP, but nobody participates. I quit it for years because I was told I was off topic on something that was absolutely on topic, but I am giving it another try.

I like the lack of gaslighting and the ties to real discussion, but its dead. Id like to spearhead an effort to bring it back.

The weather did not cooperate. First a lightning storm caused the evacuation of the Mall, then they delayed it, it barely started on the 4th. Though the display was SPECTACULAR... I would have loved to have been there, but I have a job... gotta work, don't have the time to travel there.

I think you misrepresent the crowd, you tell us what you wanted to happen, not what did. For the time and after the delay the crowd was still massive.

I've never heard of a 4th of July fireworks show that starts at midnight and ends on July 5th.

Fireworks often happen on the 5th, if rained out on the 4th, but I've never heard of it happening in the middle of the night.

I imagine a lot of people who live in D.C. went to bed at 10PM feeling sure the fireworks would be rescheduled got woken up at midnight.
 
What caused the poor attendance at the Fair that was put on by Trump?

Part of it was the heat, but another reason was the lack of a headliner and the public perception it was a partisan event.
