President Donald Trump is promising to reveal "really big news" on election security. Many Republicans wish he wouldn't.

The president's speech, expected to be delivered in prime time Thursday from the White House, comes amid renewed hostilities with Iran, which are once again driving up fuel prices ahead of an election that most strategists still expect to turn on cost-of-living issues.

But instead of touting the recent good news on declining inflation or hyping the new housing law, Trump plans to talk about 2020 and "free and fair elections," alarming some in the GOP who worry he will continue to make baseless claims or repeat debunked conspiracies.

"The people I talk to are scared shitless," said a former Trump administration official, granted anonymity to speak candidly. "It's not scared shitless about the text of what he's going to say, it's, what does he add to the text?"

Republican operatives, including those in Trump's inner circle, have pleaded for months for an unrelenting focus on the economy. And while the president has talked up his tax cuts and Trump Accounts during campaign stops, his decision to use a rare prime time address to focus on election integrity is a missed opportunity, the former official said.

"From the White House, they would prefer to be talking about economic conditions improving," the former official said. "And any second of the day that's not spent talking about that right now I'm sure frustrates many in the administration."

Who is scared shitless? Name names, or admit this is completely made up.

I think this nut actually believes he won the 2020 election, his delusion with this is getting worse now?!!
Trump will claim election fraud if the democrats take the midterms, he won't except the results either?!!
Fuck you asshole. You supported the assassination of your president so, fuck you!

You support a rapist as president.
You fully supported a guy for Governor of Florida who let two homosexual prostitutes pound him in the ass in a hotel in Miami. Remember when he was found in his room drunk out of his mind and full of crack laying ass UP naked as a jay bird? Yeah him,...THAT was the guy you voted for.

He knows he lost. He knew in the summer of 2020 he was going to lose. He fell behind in the polls immediately after the primaries and never closed the gap which was outside the margins of error in the spring, again in the summer, again in the fall. By August it was evident things were not getting better, so he invented "The Stolen Election". On the evening of August 20 he made a prime time speech with the theme, "Biden can not win a fair election". Given the polls that comment was bonkers. He had nothing factual to back it up, nothing whatsoever. The polls did not measurably improve in September or October. It's known that on election eve he met with his advisers and was told the outlook was grim. Nate Silver in his last column gave him a ten (10%) percent chance. The election came out as expected. So did Trump, if you had been paying attention to him or were familiar with his lack of integrity.

The Memo: Troubles crowd in on Trump as he prepares for address

On Tuesday, Trump suggested that his speech would address claims of fraud in the 2020 election.

"It's really, really big news," he promised Tuesday. "It doesn't get bigger, because without free and fair elections, you don't have a country."

His record on this subject is awash in falsehoods, however — something that has led opponents to argue TV networks should not carry his speech, if this is to be its main topic.

I didn’t know about it at the time, if I had know of the drug use or prostitution, I would not have voted for him.

You know about the rape, and did when you voted for him….

I didn’t know about it at the time….
a man in a blue shirt and tie is holding a cup of coffee and saying sure ..

Lets get out ahead of it and just predict what he will say since i think there will be only one real focus and it goes one of two ways...

Top of Trump's wish list:

#1 - Nicolas Maduro does what Ukraine Leader Zelensky refused to do (and what Brian Kemp refused in not "finding votes") and gives Trump a written statement saying he and his government were deeply involved in trying to steal the 2016 and 2020 elections on behalf of the democrats they secretly worked with.

Like Ghislaine Maxwell Maduro will be moved to some more comfortable prison accommodations until the end of Trumps term with some promise of release and maybe a pardon as Trump exits.

#2 - Maduro refuses but Trump trots out binders and binders of selective intelligence BS that he claims proves election interference but that is never submitted for scrutiny and certainly not to a court.

--------

I think we all know this is what plays out and that magats will feign this is some shocking and irrefutable proof.

US networks face dilemma over whether to air Trump's election security speech

NEW YORK, July 16 (Reuters) - U.S. television networks are weighing whether to carry a planned primetime address on Thursday by President Donald Trump, who is expected to focus his remarks on election security, four months ‌before critical midterm elections.

Networks have historically carried most such speeches on the grounds that they provide information of public importance.

The ‌White House is considering using the speech to disclose sensitive intelligence related to China's intention or ability to interfere in the 2020 U.S. election, Reuters reported on Wednesday, which some Trump officials worry could be misleading.

During a Thursday press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that "it is also very possible" Trump will mention the current situation with Iran and the economy at the top of the speech, and could possibly address a range of topics.

She said that is "all the more reason" for the networks to carry the speech live, and for Americans to tune in.

Trump has ‌spent years sowing doubts about electoral outcomes, falsely claiming his 2020 loss to Democrat Joe Biden was rigged. He has also claimed without evidence that mail-in voting is rife with fraud, voting machines are vulnerable to manipulation and non-citizen voting is widespread.

Some Democrats, including U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have urged networks not to air the speech, arguing Trump is likely to repeat debunked claims.
