I just enjoy it when a fat-ass, zero-level, pot scrubbing galley slob wimp like yourself gets all huffy about me getting political with the VA. Sure things weren't perfect during previous administrations, but none of those Presidents cut the VA staffing to the levels the Orange Turd did.

The VA serves fewer veterans every year. Why should the number of providers they employ rise when the number of patients they serve is falling?

Non sequitur. If for example, each doctor sees 16 patients a day--30 minutes per patient and that's generous--then if you have say, 1000 patients you need 63 doctors minimum. I'd say 70 to 75 is optimal with things like vacations, days off, etc. That means if you have 100 doctors you can let 25 go and reduce costs without reducing quality of service.

I understand it perfectly. What you fail to grasp is that there is an optimal number of healthcare providers for a given patient population. If that population decreases and you have more providers than necessary, you get rid of the excess to keep things optimized. Let the excess go elsewhere where they are needed rather than keep them on a bloated budget.

2) I fully grasp the elementary concept of an optimal provider-to-patient ratio. But as always, just because you claim without any evidence that said ratio has skewed to heavily toward the provider side, does not mean I'm going to take your comment seriously.

Okay, you've added more context that you didn't before. Seems the problem is the government can't compete with the private sector for needed workers. On the other hand, if outsourcing and telemedicine works, then the VA is largely redundant.
