The left hates history

So you do not understand the point. They were folding in heat costs, air conditioning and every cost not related to their wages. The workers were making between 10 and 15 an hour.
No, they weren't. They did include in that things like a pension, health insurance, and the like (eg., benefits in kind).

The guy, and I clearly remember this, had a house, a vacation house, a boat, an RV, and several cars. They showed those as part of the segment.

Given he had a minimal high school education and was doing, at best semi-skilled labor, his wages and benefits far exceeded the value of his labor. That's the critical thing here. He was being paid more to do something not worth what he was being paid to do.

That's why GM and every other car manufacturer has automated such jobs as much as possible. Workers doing simple tasks are not worth what they demand they get paid.

Obviously he's never heard of a Carnegie library.

Or, he's never heard of Rural Metro fire departments

Or Waste Management subscription trash pick up

The point is, even today, all those so-called "Socialist" services exist as private entities with customers paying for service. Even when government run, each individual person in a city is getting separately billed for their water, sewer, garbage, and other services monthly. That isn't "Socialism" even if it is the government running those services.

Why do you think Communists care about facts?

What are you prepared to do to stop them?
On things where I can, I advocate against them. About a decade ago here in Arizona, the Left (Tom Steyer the billionaire Californian who recently ran for governor there) tried to push a green energy bill here, Prop 128. I was very vocal about how totally idiotic and costly this bill would be to Arizonans. I was sufficiently public and loud about it that I even received hate mail (I still have it) from Leftists because of my position.

The proposition failed by a vote of about 70% against statewide.

One should pick their battles carefully.

Yeah, no.

That won't stop the Communists, you know.
