Right, but people use ballpark numbers when it's not necessary to come up with a precise number. No one uses a round number like 200 years if their goal is to be precise or accurate
Eg, how old is Israel? If someone said 70, or especially 75 or 80, that would be a very reasonable answer. But if they said 200, they clearly had no clue, they were just guessing.
Eg, how many players dress for every NFL team on gameday? If someone said "40 or 50", I'd say "I don't even know myself, but that's what I would have guessed, maybe they've watched some football." If someone said 15 or 200, I'd know that they don't have a clue about football.
Owl's guess was wildly off the mark. The correct answer was like 3 generations ago, 60 years, and she said 200 years ago, which is like ten generations. Millions of people are still alive from when that happened, and she's talking about a time when our grandfathers' grandfathers' grandfathers' were already dead.
People were landing on the moon during the time that the great switch allegedly occurred. She was talking about the age when the lightbulb was invented - early 1800s.
The fact is that she was talking about it like she was some kind of expert, and she obviously had no fking clue whatsoever.
Why do you guys care so much about how Owly's stupidity was exposed? You and Creppy have your own fish to fry.
