Does Anyone Here Have An AI Assistant?

I have a friend who has personalized ChatGPT. He gave it a name and it calls him by his name.
He used it to help him write a book.
I think he uses it to help with finances and his taxes, all kinds of tasks to help organize his life.

I have tried to work like that but find it somewhat weird. Most of the time I just use regular AI available with the web browser in an anonymous fashion.

Anyone have thoughts about AI?

I dont know much about AI....other than that the Chinks are kicking our ass again....but I fully intend to take this up with My Brother In Corpus who has taken up both AI and his new Tesla.....and is sure that he has found a reason to stick around.

Yes and I hope this is related...

I got me three of these bad boys...

Becos of the work I do the risk of spoiled food in my given "climatical" situation out-ways the risk of clients getting ill from food poisoning, and possible legal actions therefrom.

While I was doing weekly plumbing maintenance I got an sms from the one of the Fridges to tell me there was a minor internal climatic event within that fridge... and then Human staff came rushing up to the man-hole I was in to tell me some sort of alarm went off in the kitchen...

Go rushing off looking for the fire and it's the frigging fridge....someone messed with the thermo adjustment thingie...Dialed it down to what I originally set it to and cool.

Sometimes I wonder if that fridge is watching me...Maybe laughing at me when I get strawberry juice in the night in my underpants

I have a chatGPT subscription and love it. I can make art, memes, enhance photos, add myself to a famous photo, get answers to everything from latest AMD research to how to make crispy French fries at home. I'm visually-impaired. I asked it if it could change its skin to make it easier for me to read and write text, and it did -- made its background black and text bold white. It doesn't call me by my name though. That might be a bit creepy. lol

Is it expensive? I have the free version but it sounds like you're getting your money's worth.

I love using AI for searching. In the past, a general search in Google and most other search engines, brought up so much junk. It was more time consuming and frustrating.

Yes, the summaries are really helpful, and you can get it to "dive deeper" if you need more detailed responses. I've tested it on various medical questions since I have a good background in that field. The sources used are quality sources, medical and scientific journals rather than blogs and articles written for those with no medical background. It links to the sources so you can go to them directly and verify what the AI said, and get more in depth info.

No, it's $20/month. Mr. Owl set it up for me as I have visual issues. I think you can get even more expensive ones. Probably more useful if you're using it for business/career/profit.
My free version crashed. It's the second or third time I tried to search for answers and it just spun. I uninstalled it.
I may get the pay version or just use one of the many free alternatives.

What also helps when using AI, is cogent follow-up questions. When we ask follow-up questions we are using our reasoning capabilities.

It's a tool, just like an axe, fire, the wheel, the plow, steam, electricity, atomic energy. Humans have always been afraid of new technology. And then we weaponize it. Clever monkeys. lol
