This interview with Megan Romer, co-chair of the DSA shows how utterly insane that party's platform is.

Among the items on the DSA platform she is happy to defend: "Abolish the Senate," "Replace the presidency and Supreme Court," "Abolish ICE," "Abolish borders and give amnesty to anyone currently in the U.S. illegally," "Defund the Pentagon," "Abolish prisons," "Government or public ownership of most large corporations."

Nobody on the Left, no Democrat, willing to defend her here?

Says a lot about the DSA's platform when even those on her side won't defend it.

Then the White Supremacy is a political party.
Is there a White supremist political platform? Is it published somewhere?
Do White supremists have a political organization with established members and a governing board?
Do White supremists run candidates for office?
Do White supremists solicit political campaign contributions?

The DSA does all of that.

Yes, it is.

They run candidates for office as Democrats. That makes them a political party.
No—the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is a socialist political organization, not a political party with its own ballot line. DSA members and endorsed candidates usually run under other parties’ lines (such as the Democratic Party), depending on the race.

Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) Overview

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is a prominent socialist organization in the United States, but it is not a political party.

Key Characteristics of DSA

  • Type of Organization: DSA is a socialist political organization, not a political party.
  • Ballot Line: It does not have its own ballot line for elections.
  • Endorsements: DSA members and endorsed candidates typically run under the lines of other parties, primarily the Democratic Party, but also occasionally with the Green Party or as independents.

Membership and Structure

  • Membership: As of July 2026, DSA has over 120,000 members.
  • Decentralized Structure: The organization has a decentralized structure, allowing local chapters significant autonomy in decision-making and strategy.

Electoral Strategy

  • Realignment Strategy: Historically, DSA aimed to push the Democratic Party leftward from within.
  • Independent Electoral Capacity: Recently, DSA has shifted towards building its own independent electoral capacity, often running candidates in primaries against incumbent Democrats.
In summary, while the DSA engages in electoral politics and supports candidates, it operates as a political organization rather than a formal political party.
