I know there are genetic and physiological signs and even messages from the brain to get you into that process. I taught a young girl (actually two) that looked like boys. No fault of their own. I was asked why that one boy was playing against girls in intramurals. She grew up to be gay. The other young girl insisted she was a boy. It pissed off her grandmother but she insisted. She looked just like a boy. You want to call them mentally ill. I think anyone that supports this abomination in charge must have some mental deficiencies or at least delusions that need attention.......

I saw the documentary on Bruce Jenner. He knew when he was young he was different. Becomes the greatest male athlete on earth and then transitions into a woman. Mind blowing. So I guess he settled into what he really believed he was. Some idiots say he wanted attention. When he won the gold in the decathlon he got more attention than 99.9% of us ever would.

I am not taking a position on the trans issue but will point a few facts you ignore.
First is that 'being gay' used to be considered a "mental illness" too. Second is that "suicide rates" amongst gays, especially gay children, used to be significantly higher.
So what was core to that coming down?
A significant part, if not the largest was society acceptance of gay people as normal and not considering them 'mentally ill' and society over all stop focusing hate at them in media, comedy and society over all.
I think it is undeniably intuitive that if from the youngest ages of a person developing their identity others are telling them they are mentally ill, abominations, should not exist and attacking them the way the right attacks trans kids and people, that their suicide rates would be crazy high.
