Texas Public Opinion Research launched in September 2024, so naturally we should treat it as a venerable polling institution with a rich history of being proven right.

Pollsters normally build credibility by releasing surveys before elections and then having those numbers compared with the actual results. That creates a scorecard.

TPOR has skipped that tedious part.

No meaningful history of final election polls. No established accuracy rating. No record showing whether its methodology predicts voters or merely produces attractive headlines.

But it has a professional website, “nonpartisan” in the description, and a poll showing a miraculous 30-point shift among non-college voters.

What more could anyone possibly need? the retard that made it about me is apparently convinced because he is too fucking stupid to recognize confirmation bias

That is the wonderfully convenient feature of a brand-new polling organization: it gets to enjoy the authority of a pollster before enduring the embarrassment of being graded like one.

Real credibility is earned over multiple elections. You publish your final numbers, Election Day arrives, and everyone sees whether you accurately measured the electorate or merely supplied the campaign narrative somebody ordered.

TPOR has not reached that bothersome accountability stage. It has a polished website, an impressively bureaucratic name and “nonpartisan” printed on the packaging.

By the time enough elections have occurred to establish a real scorecard, these political operations can disappear, merge, rename themselves or return under another equally authoritative-sounding brand.

The headline travels immediately. The accountability arrives years later—assuming the company is still around to receive it.
